Filipino nurse planning to study in australia
it is costly but with the 2yrs study in UWS, you'll be granted 2yrs post-study work rights, which means that you can stay in Australia after finishing your course, do full time work, and you don't have to rush in finding sponsor.

Anyone studying at UTAS in sydney?
I'm interested in this? Do they have accelerated program or credit transfer for overseas nurses?

Why do Filipino Nurses want to work in the US?
Your starting pay is quite low, I earned the same (in Australian Dollars) for my part time job in an Aged Home Care. Starting pay for Div 1 RN here in Sydney starts at 65 AUD.

Meeting AHPRA requirements as a International Trained Nurse from the Philippines
Hi! I've talked to UC about this and they told me that once I finished my degree, I'll be able to qualify for "Skilled Independent visa (subclass 885)". For some reason, they still insist that I'll be able to qualify for post-study work stream which is under the visa you mentioned so I don't know what to believe. XD

Bridging Program in Australia
I doubt you can get an AHPRA eligibility since you haven't had the required 3 years work experience for overseas nurses. You might want to take the long route (study again for a year, ask the Uni for credit transfer) unless you're a graduate of section 1 Uni (like UP) ofcours. It'll be easy since you are a PR holder and will be eligible for student loans if you decided to study again.

Bridging Program in Australia
For BP, you need an IELTS with score of 7 in all areas, but for BSN course (1-2 yrs depending on credit transfer) you don't need IELTS to register with AHPRA

Meeting AHPRA requirements as a International Trained Nurse from the Philippines
Hi! Just wanna say that I'm planning to skip the AHPRA process and take the longer route of 1 year study probably in UC or ACU. UC already has a course offering for August and instead of waiting 4-6 mos for LOE from AHPRA and looking for BP schools afterwards plus the 3 mos bridging program itself, I have probably graduated by then. XDDD. I'm just exaggerating but instead of waiting that long, I'd rather spend that time studying and working since students are given 20hrs/wk for work. I also learned that once I graduated from UC or ACU with the Bachelors degree, I will have at least 2 yrs post-study work rights, which I think is better than rushing to look for work after BP school or I must head back home. I'm just sharing my plans to those looking for an alternative. Though the obvious disadvantage of this one is definitely more expensive so it's a must that you have a relative in Australia for you to freeload. XD

Meeting AHPRA requirements as a International Trained Nurse from the Philippines
Hi! I'm currently in the process of sending my papers to AHPRA and I just want clarify some things: - Can I send my application to AHRPA even without my IELTS results? I will be taking the exam this May and not that I'm confident that I can score 7.0 in all bands, but computing the time before my application reaches the office, I have probably taken the exam that time. I just have to wait 13 days for the results, which I have requested idp to send the results at AHPRA. -Can I also send my certificate of good standing from PRC the moment I send my AHPRA application? (Separately, ofcourse) Or do I have to wait for AHPRA to ask me for my certificate of good standing? -It sucks that ARNTP is in SA because I'm planning to study in Sydney since my cousin lives there, and ACN is two stations away from their place. Is there a similar program in Sydney that you know? I checked AHPRA website and it's disappointing that most schools are also in VIC area. -I've read in this forum that I only need to pay/charged in my credit card the assessment and application fee? Is this right? -Is it also correct that I can send my papers to ANY AHPRA branches even though I'll be taking BP course in other state. - However, my biggest problem is that the course description that my school provides only has UNITS and not HOURS per course description. I don't know what to do about this and my school registrar told me that they can only provide that. My RLE is okay since it's in hours, but my huge problem is my course description. - Lastly, a friend of mine has sent her papers in AHPRA VIC; however, her nursing license was once suspended for grounds of unethical conduct and it's stated in her PRC certificate of good standing so she's kinda worried that this will affect her application. What do you think? -Feel free to email me at [email protected] THANK YOU!
