I don't think there is anything they have that we don't already have in the U.S. The measles outbreaks are in large part happening with people who chose not to vaccinate. I have seen more lice, bedbugs, etc. in legal citizen patients than I care to think about. TB has not been eradicated in the U.S. The homeless are especially at risk for this. I am not sure what they are so worried about. Maybe they should deport all the homeless. ;-)

What else can you do with them? That is the difficult questions at hand.

If there are sick children involved, they need care. It would be inhumane to just ship them back to the border and let them go, knowing they would most likely become much worse or even die.

I don't think they would make a dent in the costs that most hospitals already incur treating illegal people. And come on, they are children. Very fragile population of patients.

Fix news is going to report things with an extreme conservative bias just as MSNBC with report with a liberal bias ("fix" was total typo, but I will let it stand). For less biased reporting, I prefer CNN or BBC.

BBC, AlJazeera america...numerous internet sources...all are "better" than fox etc...FSN radio is probably the best if you can find it!

Really??? Has common sense left the building??? FYI,,, measles is on the rise because of misinformed followers of pseudo-science and religious dogma...wait-that is usually the reason most things go awry...

Some of the pictures from the detention centers show areas of sick immigrants, and border employees wearing masks.

It may simply be a precaution. There might be no significance whatsoever in the pictures of people with masks.

I'd heard on a news program other than fox, that a lot of the immigrants had scabies and lice. Not healthy, but not exactly life threatening either.

Do you run to the news every time your patients come up with lice, scabies, or TB?

We pay for lots of people... Ar least some of those jumping the border want to work. I would trade a large portion of inner city welfare recipients for people just wanting work, any work.

Other news sources are reporting it. Did you know the major networks avoided the VA scandal? So if Fox News cannot be relied upon, whom should we trust? The stations that don't report the news? The stations that show their liberal bias every time they do report news?

Well anyone who knows about news knows that there is typically some sort of bias in a story. When I hear the phrase "liberal media bias" I just laugh. It's as absurd as "fair and balanced". I'm afraid that I get my news from several sources so that I'm not ignorant about what's going on in the world.
