Oh great. At least 99% of my students all have their shots on time, only 2 are exempt with conscience notarization and 2 are only non-compliant for HEP A because they are from Mexico and one his parents are trying to get it sent from El Salvador. From a school of 524, I hope this protects my school a bit.

I follow a popular anti-vaxxer doc on FB, scary what these people believe. They are claiming that this outbreak, though in a poorly vaccinated area, proves herd immunization does not protect them. I tried to show them that herd theory protects those that can't have the vaccination, not those that don't want the vaccine, fell on deaf/ ignorant ears. I think I got removed for my pro vaccine views, that's how tolerant they are even though I only posted facts with no judgement.

I hate when people play the "...but herd immunization..." bull. It only works if enough of the herd is immunized, people! It's not just about you!
I had to have my titers drawn for an internship I was doing a couple years ago. I was just over the line to be immune for mumps and ruebella and under the line for immunity to measles. I had to have the MMR series again (which, BTW, hurts like a b!tch). I never would have known if I didn't have to have the titers. Scary to think that I would be susceptible and have no idea!
I had to have Hep B again too. Even scarier since I work in health care!

If their judgement doesn't agree with your facts then your facts become judgement against them so, "get off our site!"
Y'all , I was talking to the sweet pharmacy tech while picking up a prescription yesterday. She asked if we had any cases of measles. Nope, our district does a great job of ensuring vaccine compliance.
And then I realized I have 40 preK students who do not HAVE to have the second MMR until age 4. Many have as they turn 4, but yes...I have a vulnerable population up here in the NTX.

Houston has 3 cases of measles. Here is a great info sheet from CDC. https://www.cdc.gov/measles/parent-infographic.html
