Hi guys! Who else is applying for MDC Fall 2011?
I am also applying for FIU-- I was accepted last year to MDC but for financial and personal reasons could not attend. :'( Who else will be applying to Generic FT? Please state what program you will be applying to!
I will be taking the TEAS sometime in March, in which I will also be taking the HESI A2 for FIU. So I might as well be studying for both, lol. Anybody taken the TEAS at MDC? Share your experiences here! :) I will be using a general book for nursing school entrance exams... it's by Barron... and I will be studying my math from a nursing calculation book, and my sciences from my anatomy, biology, and other notes. Is it true there is geology on the exam? How irrelevant... lol
Well good luck to us all! :heartbeat
Hi everyone, I plan to apply to Mdc spring 2012 bridge program. However I am not a current Mdc student and will be transfering there for the spring. Does anyone know if there are any nursing advisors in the homestead campus? The medical campus is just to far away for me. :/ if not, can anyone give me a name, number, or email so that I can get in contact with someone. Thank you. Congrats to everyone who has gotten accepted.
I got my LabCorp results from econoLABS in the mail. They sent me a thick envelope which had the results of the drug test and titers inside as well as ANOTHER sealed envelope which I can submit to MDC. So I definitely can recommend them as they seem to have sent everything perfectly.
Awesome! I am totally going to do it with them. Am I supposed to call EconoLabs first and then Labcorp or is it ok just to call EconoLabs?
Hi! I have a question for you guys. I'll be applying for the Spring 1012 generic full time program. I'm done with my Pre-requisites already and also took the teas. However, I will have next fall empty and I was thinking of taking some of the Pre requisites for the bachelors program. But the question is...do you recommend to take 3 or 4 classes during the application process? I'm afraid that they might interfere later on when I'll have to do all the things that you all are doing now. What are your thought on this?
I'll really appreciate any advise. :)

Honestly if you are organized I think you can do it. I am only taking 2 classes right now, its not too bad. And I only work a few hours a week and I have everything under control. I am not rushing to get everything done because I feel that they have given us enough time to complete everything.
A good idea I should have thought of is to make your doctor's appts ahead of time. Like maybe in August call your PCP to make an appt for the titers and physical, so you can do it in October or November. You should get your email by then. You shouldn't get the background check no, infact you can't. But maybe the drug test you can do now. I am not sure....

I did it all of the classes intro to psych, intro to sociology, nutrition, stats. I got straight A's and i worked it's possible you can even take psych, soci, and nutri independent study. It helps your chances of getting in if you do take the classes ahead of time.
just got my tb... should be going next week for the rest... what is everyone else up to?
Hi. If you don't mind sharing, where did you get the TB test? I've called Miami Dade health department several times but they always transfer me to a dead-end voice mail. They are supposed to offer the TB test there, but I haven't been able to find a person with whom I can actually sign up.

I got it at my PCP's... my insurance somehow covers it. He is going to do the rest of my tests for me except the drug test. I went one time to the Health Dept. Its just better to show up and make the appt face to face if you can't get them on the phone.

I selected and paid for the tests through econoLABS online first. Then I went to the LabCorp site to schedule an appointment. One thing to watch out for is that econoLABS recommends whatever lab facility is closest to you. But I found out later, that the LabCorp site near my apartment doesn't do the drug testing. The search engine on the LabCorp site will tell you which offices do the drug tests.

I think you're right! I went on Friday to turn in my response form for generic - After alot of agonizing thought I finally decided to turn down the accelerated program, so a spot opened up in that program. The advisor said that the school will start going through all of those today, Monday, to see what spots are open and will be emailing acceptance letters throughout the week. They didn't work on them over the weekend apparently, so they just started going through all of the response forms today. Hope that's somewhat helpful!
