Hi guys! Who else is applying for MDC Fall 2011?
I am also applying for FIU-- I was accepted last year to MDC but for financial and personal reasons could not attend. :'( Who else will be applying to Generic FT? Please state what program you will be applying to!
I will be taking the TEAS sometime in March, in which I will also be taking the HESI A2 for FIU. So I might as well be studying for both, lol. Anybody taken the TEAS at MDC? Share your experiences here! :) I will be using a general book for nursing school entrance exams... it's by Barron... and I will be studying my math from a nursing calculation book, and my sciences from my anatomy, biology, and other notes. Is it true there is geology on the exam? How irrelevant... lol
Well good luck to us all! :heartbeat
Well, here goes...I went today to the Medical Campus, and declined my spot in the Fulltime Generic Program for this fall.
Due to a family situation, I won't be able to attend nursing school (which is what you HAVE to dedicate) until this coming spring. So, I'll be reapplying for the Spring 2012 semester, and God willing, I will be accepted again and be able to start at that time.
So as much as it KILLED me to decline my spot, I am happy that one more person will be able to participate in the program this fall. I honestly hope it's one of you!!!
I also am very happy to that so many here have gotten in, and that the rest of us will have some eyes and ears going into the program!
I guess it's up to me to get the "MDC Spring 2012" thread going, right?
When I first read your post my reaction was, OMG!!! I totally understand your problem, and I respect your decision and your courage, because it takes a lot of power to go and reject a seat. Well, all I can say is good luck to you, and I will be praying for you, so you can be fine to start spring!!!!
I havent got my email yet, and I am crossing my fingers, but if I dont get in at this time, I will try again in the spring, so count on me for the ´MDC Spring 2012`thread LOL!!!!
I am also very happy for those that got in already!!!!
Hi everyone, first of all congrats to all that have been accepted to the nursing program. Unfortunately for me I have still not received anything yet and Im still waiting. I have a gpa of 4.0 and a teas score of 72 and it averages out to an 83.2. I just wanted to know what you guys think where I would fall on the list for the second round picks coming up and hopefully I get accepted!!
You have a great gpa! People have gotten in with high 80's TEAS and low 3.gpa's so hopefully you'll get in! If for some reason you don't, take the TEAS again before Sept 1 deadline for spring. I took it twice too...it was worth it though because my score went up 4 pts which made a huge difference since it's 60% of what they look at. Have faith you can do it! :)
But I'll pray for you for this semester!
Hey I just got this really cool thing in the mail. I think you guys should check it out. It's a nursing school planner. It has a ton of cool information for clinicals, study/test taking skills, and nursing dx. It also has online Evolve resources like spanish/english glossary and hourly time maps you can print out. It was like 17 bucks new on amazon.com. I love it!!!
I'm going to sew a cute cover for it this week
just got my tb... should be going next week for the rest... what is everyone else up to?
I have to get the rubella titer again because I wasn't immune to it so I had to get the vaccination, wait a month and now get another titer. This lady wants to charge me $160 because she said she can't do the rubella titer individually. I'm going to try econolab and hopefully they can give me a better deal.
Oh and I have to get my 2nd tb. How much did yours cost because this lady is killin' me?

=/ the first thing i did was ask my Dr's medical assistant if my insurance covered that. It took a while to get an answer but my Dr is doing all of that for me except the drug test. And I am pretty sure they will do that one for me too if I keep asking, lol. But the Miami-Dade Health Dept. near the Medical Campus should offer it for cheap, no?
for ppl who got into the fall semester or ppl who are still waiting (like me) you should check this youtuber out

I took the test by paying econoLabs and then went to Labcorp, but I haven't heard back from them yet. I am out of town this week but will contact them next week to find out when I get the results. I'll post back when I find out what's up.
