I am also applying for FIU-- I was accepted last year to MDC but for financial and personal reasons could not attend. :'( Who else will be applying to Generic FT? Please state what program you will be applying to!
I will be taking the TEAS sometime in March, in which I will also be taking the HESI A2 for FIU. So I might as well be studying for both, lol. Anybody taken the TEAS at MDC? Share your experiences here! :) I will be using a general book for nursing school entrance exams... it's by Barron... and I will be studying my math from a nursing calculation book, and my sciences from my anatomy, biology, and other notes. Is it true there is geology on the exam? How irrelevant... lol
=/ the first thing i did was ask my Dr's medical assistant if my insurance covered that. It took a while to get an answer but my Dr is doing all of that for me except the drug test. And I am pretty sure they will do that one for me too if I keep asking, lol. But the Miami-Dade Health Dept. near the Medical Campus should offer it for cheap, no?
Since I don't have health insurance I went to the Miami-Dade free clinic. Supposedly the office visit is free but I have to pay for the lab work. I think she is adding on additional fees to the lab work though because my drug test was $80 (I thought it was $60 but I looked at my paperwork and it was $80) and that email MDC sent us had a lab that does it for $35. There's nothing I can do about that now since it's in the past but hopefully i can get the rubella and next tb shot for less. I'm not going to any more health dept's or clinics though. I'm trying the lab directly this time.
How many of you were able to register to classes? I tried to get online but couldn't find any open classes. Is it that we have to register at orientation?

I have to get the rubella titer again because I wasn't immune to it so I had to get the vaccination, wait a month and now get another titer. This lady wants to charge me $160 because she said she can't do the rubella titer individually. I'm going to try econolab and hopefully they can give me a better deal.
Oh and I have to get my 2nd tb. How much did yours cost because this lady is killin' me?
Go to the health department its $79.00 had to get it too. But you should take two tb first. I just took it too not immune to rubella. There's one on 80th ne 1st ave.
Friday?! My goodness there is so much anxiety! I dont know why Mdc takes this long hopefully it's because a lot more spots opened up so they need time to send out a lot of acceptance letters! You can only be so hopefully :)
