  1. Yes - they have pink. That's what I've found so far :)
  2. I share your pain in the math....I too will have to study twice as hard. Thank you for the idea of the DVD's, I will definitely check them out!
  3. I hope everyone's week is going well!!! I've come home exhausted every day for the last two days - I have all of my classes Tues. and Wed. so they are long days. I feel like such a wimp! I guess I will adjust soon...........just some thoughts on the week so far....There's lots and lots to read, as expected :sstrs: ......The Fundamentals book pages are way too thin! arghh,,can't debind the book, but, I found awesome highlighters that don't bleed through! If you're interested, they are the Sharpies gel highlighters - I ordered them through amazon.com because they didn't have them at office max or depot when I went, but I bet they will order them for you if you can't find them either - they are totally worth it! They don't even show through the pages! .....so far all my professors seem to be really cool :) yay! ..........I finally remembered to sign up with the nsna (national student nurses' association - $35 for the year....and to stick a pen light in my backpack and goggles in my nursing bag..... I feel so clumsy just taking blood pressure! Too many things to hold onto at once, plus listen too! Can't wait to feel like a practiced professional!........If I have to buy one more book this semester I think I will cry!:grn: .I've met some truly wonderful people in the program so far - hey, we're like family for the next 16 months, right? :rckn:..(and hopefully make friends that last a lifetime, if we're lucky :redbeathe) ....oh, and, duh, :smackingf I discovered that it's a whole lot smarter for me if I print out the powerpoints in the success center rather than waste my ink at home! I'm slow.....Those human body simulators are sooo totally cool! :yelclap: ..and last but not least,.I have resigned myself to doing so much less of this - - and so much more of this :throcomp: - lol....nah, just kidding....I hope.... Truly, you're a great bunch of peeps :loveya:! See ya!
  4. Don't worry, they are supplied. Even the stethoscopes are "double" scopes with two head pieces for you and a partner to listen and work together (and for your prof. to test you).
  5. It has been fun!....I have pharm and math tomorrow morn, and Health Asses. tomorrow afternoon. Skills lab is more practice than theory, even though we have a book (at least for my prof. it is so). Practice taking respiration without making it look obvious that you're staring at someones chest! ahh, I can't really see the rising and falling with the breaths on everyone! (but blood pressure is fun, just takes practice and "focused" listening)..........and, I'm not looking forward to the math diagnostic test tomorrow though........argh! lol Btw, where is the library?
  6. Oh yeah, that's right! I forgot - crazy with nerves - lol. I feel the same way!! But, we will be fine. Tomorrow we will all be back online here and talking about our first day :) Good luck!
  7. What's your first class tomorrow? I have Fundamentals with Ponce at 8am.
  8. I have Ponce for Fundies.
  9. woohooo! We definitely need to get together. pm me on this site and we can make plans if you want.:)
  10. I have Fundamentals from 8-10:30 Tues., Skills lab from 2 - 4:30 or so on Tues, then Wed. I have Math and Pharm from 9-10:30 or so, and Health Asses. in the afternoon (forgot the time). I am going to Floridian/Jackson N???? on Fridays. (I have no idea where that is or what it is...a nursing home?). Potter and Perry seems to be the only book we need to take to Fundies class on Tues. I haven't heard about any other readings for Tues. and have gotten no syllabi.
  11. I'm sequence 2 as well! Maybe we can compare schedules!
  12. I have major problems with my feet - wide and short. The best shoes (I think they are the same that eagles is talking about) that I've found for my wide feet are these: http://www.amazon.com/Timberland-Professional-Womens-Slip--White/dp/B00295RJUS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1313800802&sr=8-1 I liked them so much I bought a pair in blue (navy) for everyday shoes to take to school - that way they are closed shoes and look a little bit more dressed up - still casual, but neat. This weekend I'm buying jeans and blouses that are cute casual, but at least are not t-shirts (which is all I wear ironically!). So excited and nervous!!:heartbeat:nurse:
  13. For those who are following the syllabus that one of the teachers mailed out - the chapter we should be reading is 34 in the Fundamentals book?
  14. Awesome! Thank you for sharing. We look forward to finding out what answers they give you! :)
  15. They just changed it on you? Did you find out just by checking your schedule again? I better check mine again - silly me, it really didn't occur to me to check it every once in a while to see if it was changed. Going every day is really a bummer with gas, but your work will be ok with your new schedule?
