Hello everyone!
I've been obsessively reading over the threads for the 2013 and 2014 applicants, but I thought I'd see if anyone will be applying to the Nursing program at Macomb Community College for 2015. I am a transfer student from Texas and will be taking A&P this summer then intro to Nursing (since MCC requires that you take their specific course) and micro in the Fall. I'm so excited to get back into school and was wondering if anyone is following along the same timeline.
Im a little confused. You ladies are saying that they round the total average scores? Like if someone was 88.7 it would be counted as 89? How would they be able to rank if they round that way? Everyone would fall in the same averages. Like if 50 students were between 88.5-88.9 they would all have 90? Im confused, someone help me out lol.
So sorry for all the confusion about the scores and ranking. I guess I got a little carried using the formula and number crunching trying to make some of us feel better about our scores. That makes sense regarding the rounding and the ranking. I was apparently thinking about what the HESI Proctor had mentioned in her announcement regarding rounding our composites and applied it to our final score. My Counselor did say that the numbers are all plugged into a computer program and there are a lot of ties for scores each year. So maybe they use alphabetical order, soc sec #'s or something else for tie breakers in seat placement. I am sure this is a question that is often asked but never really answered....
For those of you who are concerned about buying books and the expense check out the Macomb facebook book buy/sell/swap pages, there are a few of them. People are selling nursing books, they do all the time. They say they are good even if they are an edition old but you shouldn't go older than that. I was able to buy a complete set for $450, most are current or only one edition old. I know this may be a little early, but what the heck, huh.
