make sure you buy the nclex book from the bookstore. That one comes with a 2year Prep U card that will be using after the first 8 weeks.

older editons are fine.. page and chapters numbers might be a bit different. so you should be just fine

use planners, but the cheap ones you can find at walmart. Backpack just a large one should be good. I have a rolling backpack, but I only used during study section so I could carry my books (first 8 weeks) highlighters, sticky notes... stethoscope pen light...i am so excited for you all
