MCC Fall 2009 applicants, post your HESI class average.

Published

Okay it is a long time until the letters go out and we are all wondering if our HESI score was good enough. So let's be silly and play detectives and see if we can get an idea of where we stand.

For 1000 students with around 30 seats per room, there was around 34 classes.

1. Greent52389- 1/7/09, Rm 130, 81.73 average

2. Shannonmarie7- 1/7/09, Rm 115, 81.75 average

Repy with your test date, number of the room you were in, and the average score from your class and I will update this page to see what some of the overall class averages are.:smokin:

Was this the A2 or the pre-NCLEX hesi? They are two different tests.

I think the pre-NCLEX HESI.

I had a friend at Baker who failed it 3 times and had to take that quarter over again. She passed it the 4th time.

I heard it is really hard, but it definitely a different version that the one we are discussing.

I was just thinking about Bakers application process. What happens after you apply the first time, get denied and then get the extra point, reapply a second time and still get denied, are you done at Baker then? Can you apply a 3rd time in hopes the 3rd set of incoming people are lower or do they cut you off at that time?

merrywhiterose- from what I have read on this board the NCLEX is soooo hard that even people that finish the nursing program do not even pass it. I think there are study guides for it, or I would post on here to see how everyone else is doing on it. This post is about the HESI MCC has you take to get into the program, I wish I was even to the point of not passing the NCLEX.

I'm not sure. I know that you can only take the NET twice. But I don't think you are excluded from applying again in later terms. If they were to change the policy, for instance, make the NET worth more, then I could take it again (as I have only taken it once there.) and attempt to improve my score to get more points, making it more likely that I get in.

It is also possible that while the points are really high right now, it might not be that way in the future. There was a huge jump from 20.22 to the 22.63 (or whatever it actually was). It is possible that it won't stay up that high.

You had over 80 on the NET right? I guess there is no sense in taking it again since you have the full 7 points, but what happens if everyone has around the same GPA, over 80, and same points? Ugh. Well it's good to know that you might be able to apply more than twice, I plan on getting in there no later than Spring 2010 darn-it!!!:D

I hope you get into MCC this time. You could. We don't know until we get the letters!

Yes, I had an 85 and earned 7 points. People who had 80 had 7 points, too. But people who had 75 had less. :Oh the unfairness of it all! Laughing!!:

By the time they change anything, I will already be in a program. :) I am sure of it! At least I seriously hope so.

I would love to get into MCC this fall, but I have already put it in my mind that Baker Spring 2010 is the place for me. That way when I get 2 denial letters, hopefully I will not have a full blown melt down.:p You are already have a place at MCC this Fall, if not also Baker.:D

I have 4 credits from MCC earned in Summer 08, and 9 earned from Baker in Fall 08 (13 total, but only 9 will transfer). When MCC says "most recent 12 credits" do they mean the most recent earned BEFORE the application deadline? Technically that wouldn't be the "most recent" at all because there's Winter 09 and Summer 09 before Fall 09 starts.

Can anyone clear this up for me?

Yes, I think it is before the deadline. I had my last (Fall) credit transferred over. I wouldn't be able to have the next ones sent over, because it would be too late, by the time we get these, they will be on their way to finishing up the ranking.

Although, I wonder if we are supposed to send them over anyhow.

They told me the last 12 at MCC or combination of 18-20 credits from other schools by Feb 09. So basically Fall 08 and before. Toxicshock, I'm thinking that they will want at least the last 18 from you since only 4 were done at MCC and the rest were transfer. Did you have a total of 18 between the 2 colleges?

Why is it 18-20 from other schools and 12 from MCC? I had an advisor tell me it was the same for me since my credits are from WSU, unless for instance you took 4 credits one semester and 7 credits the one before, which is only 11, so they would use the next semester before that too (all credits from that semester not just enough to make 12).
