maybe im being paranoid...

Published

I was in what i will call a conference with other colleagues. We were seated (in close proximity) around a oval table, and each had a water bottle. At the end of the meeting, everyone was leaving. i was reaching down to get my bottle of water and realized that there was another like 5 inches away from my water. Maybe its my imagination running away with me, but i may have been drinking up someone elses water bottle without realizing it. Thinking back, the water did seem to have a taste, but i attributed this to the plastic itself. Should i be worried?

APRIL FOOLS!!!!

APRIL FOOLS!!!!

I WISH. But based on the posting hx, going back five years, this is a brand-new RN who is (apparently) quite serious.

I think the suggestion to go get some ETOH was the best one :)

Course, if you have an anxiety disorder and are a wee bit if a germaphobe then something like drinking someone else's water can cause a bit of mental anguish despite your knowledge of the situation.

Thanks. I just spit coffee across my desk!

Thanks to a many of you for reassuring me. I knew that my post was going to be met with some ridicule, but you answered my concerns. On a side note, I had a lot of good laughs from reading many of your posts. You guys are hilarious! Thanks for that!

We could put you in touch with Sheldon Cooper if it would help.

That would be so much worse lol, but I do know as someone with an anxiety disorder I would have been very bothered too :)

Just reminded of my grandchildren's habit of not sharing drinks. They state it's because of all the "backwash" that goes back and forth when you drink. I told them, I never slosh back so I find their reasoning to be overkill. It doesn't paint a pleasant picture though.

Years ago, I remember not paying attention and drinking from a water bottle that also had cigarette butts in it.

Ugh. I still shiver. THAT was disgusting! I've survived. I'm sure you too will be fine.

This happened to me once, and I was so freaked out I took the bottle to the lab to have it tested.

EEK! They found dog saliva! Not knowing who's dog it was, it was suggested that I needed rabies vaccine. OUCH!! That hurt so bad!

LMAO-of course I just made that up. Happy April fools day!

And always remember keep your friends close and your water bottle closer!!!
