March 2008 NCLEX support group

Published

A thread for all those in March who are planning to take the NCLEX offering both support and any hints or tips that help

Good luck to all :D

I took mine today, it shut off at 75 questions. I wanted to beat the computer, I didn't feel like I was done!

I'm mildly encouraged by analyzing the test content. I had several "SATA", a couple of calculations, and lots of medication and prioritization questions. But I'm still scared and very anxious to receive my results!

I did Kaplan, but found the class to be a waste of time and money. The online portion is the most helpful part. LOVED Qbank in tutor mode, so I could learn content as I tested. The book was a little too information-dense to be user-friendly, in my opinion.

Good luck everyone!

Found out today I passed. Thanks to all on the boards...loved those mnemonics...actually used VEAL CHOP on the test...and thanks to Suzanne and her plan for adding in that critical sanity factor of an ordered plan. The stress factor is your silent enemy, it saps you and creates doubt, and questions all your hard work. Your nclex is just the last day of your study routine. You can do this just fine.

I take my boards next Friday for my LVN and I am so NERVOUS! Should I review anything the day before??? I was thinking of reviewing ABGs and Lab values the day before I take my test. Any tips?!?!? I feel so burnt out. I am in the RN program and cramming all of that information into my head and cramming all the info for my boards! I am so nervous! Please say a prayer for me. Good luck to anyone else who has their boards coming up.

Congratulations to all who passed!!! For those who failed, don't despair...a lot of us have been through the experience and its not easy. I know its hard to accept at first but everything happens for a reason. As for me, it just made me stronger and made me realize the mistakes I did in the past. Some have been taking the NCLEX 4x, 5x, 6x and even more but the lesson there is that they are not giving up. We all just have to believe in God and in ourselves.

GOOD LUCK TO THE NEW RNs AND AND TO US FUTURE RNs!!!
