thanks for the thread! I want to be a febuary test taker, but may end up testing in march.

I am taking kaplan review and completing 3000 NCLEX questions as required by my school. I have read the other NCLEX support threads and love them. I hope this thread will be just as successful!

Hi igiminor, i havent recieved my ATT yet, but I am pretty sure i should be able to test in March. what are you doing to study?

Hi Miss JKm,

I am doing Suzanne's first tip right now. I have received her mailing for the second tip but its a little early to start that .. I will also do the PDA book... I do use the internet to browse for topics I have difficulty in as my content requires brushing up on as I am returning to nursing after a break...So its basically Saunder's for the content review...I see that you are doing QT from Kaplan... I too took the Kaplan Complete course and did the 1-7 QT's and Q-bank... score b/w 55-70%... was unsure about my content so started with Suzanne's plan....but I do see a lot of recent grad's do well on the NCLEX with Kaplan..if you definitely plan to give the test in March Is it possible for you to make a list like wizard100/iel etc have done for Nov/Dec/Jan groups??..

igiminor- sure i can make a list. i guess i will begin my list when we all have test dates. i would love to have the support like the other threads had.

sounds like you have a good plan using suzannes plan. i am trying to plan a study plan for myself. so far i am doing two things. i am using kaplans qbank and trainer, i review the whole test with rationales when i am finished. i listen to the videos on some topics that i am weak in. i am also doing questions from lippincott text. i am using some of suzannes/kaplan strategy's. if i score less the 65% i use my suanders text to review the content, and then do the saunders quiz that correlates with the quiz.

it sounds like a lot that i am doing, but i was a big slaker in nursing school. my content is not the strong, especially in specialty areas. i am however a good test taker and i have some healthcare experience which helps.

Ugh, I hope i will be taking my NCLEX in Feb. but after calling the boards today they are backed up a couple weeks because of holidays. I was mis informed and already paid Pearson Vue so Im hoping that doesnt mess anything up. we met w our director Dec 4th and Im thinking she mailed the paperwork around Dec 7-10th... so my est. I wont hear word until Mid to Late Jan. UGH! Im so frustrated I could rip the paint off my walls! I dont do well w. waiting games. So my hopes are if I do hear anything late Jan. there may be a chance theres an opening test date in Feb. because even after NCLEX we still have to wait up to 4 weeks for our license!!! another month!! So Im assuming from grad. day to actual license day it will be almost 5 mths.! Thats super ridiculous to me ... but it is what it is so Ive been studying an array of things ... but from this point on is when Im buckling down and putting in 6-8 hours a day of studying ... good luck to all of you ....

In KY we have to work 120 hrs as an RNA before we can take nclex. I don't start work until Jan 14 so my guess would be taking nclex first of March. All I am using is Suzannes guide. Just started the second step. Good luck to everyone.

Guys,

here in the states how long it will take to received an ATT? thanks

All depends on where you did your training. If abroad it will always take a bit longer to get ok to sit the exam and register with pearsonvue (do not register with them until you get the OK from BON) even then can take a few weeks for pearsonvue to send ATT

Hi ledwards- thats kind of neat that you get to work before boards. some say it helps, for others it doesnt. I wish I was working now as a GN or could have taken my boards sooner, but my school stinks. what kind of unti will you be working on? let us know when you have a test date:)

Maury- i beleive the ATT comes after you are cleared from BON. pearsonvue (testing agency) will then mail or email your ATT. that can come within minutes or days depending on their communication with your BON. best of luck to you and let us know when you have a test date
