You know why she wants more males in nursing so she doesn't have to lift people that's it i can see it clear from here. Males don't go in to nursing for eye candy or to even be forklifts when other nurse's ( female) don't feel like lifting or doing other things. No we like Nursing or i do for the science of it and the science behind the human body.
And really that's a hard question. See as guys there's a big stereotypical thing going on people think most male nurse's are gay and that's why get in to nursing. I myself have been told by a few people either that I'm gay or some sort of molester. And with comment's like that and how we are looked in the public eye or even treated in the workplace why would males go in to nursing really.
There's no clear answer on how to get more males in to Nursing. Time to get Metaphysical on you. Do you know why people become Nurse's? Because according to people in the metaphysical realm.
They say in our other life something bad came to us either we were killed in war or something else tragic or murdered or we took our own life and that's why we serve man today. ( FYI)
I wish i can tell you how to get more guys in to it. Also you may want to look at the nature of the guy. Guy's feel it's not there place to care for people. That all the caring and nurturing should come from the female and to do this to care for a person goes against what a core of a guy is ( understand).
Look how guys are. Child ask dad can i do this? Guy say's what does your mother say? She says it's ok then its ok. Child get's sick they don't call for dad they scream mom. So it's really not in a guys nature to take care of people and for males to go in to nursing that's a big step for a guy to take.
And if you think female patient want's us. Hmm think again. Even in a nursing home females don't want male nurses. Did you not read a court case about a male nurse who got in trouble because the family members told the nursing home that they didn't want this male nurse near their mother because he was black.
And they signed a paper and told the male nurse not to go near her. Well the lady fell and broke her hip now the family members are trying to sue the place and the nurse for not helping the mother.
They called the BON of his state on him he's now suspended from being a nurse because in the BON's eyes and the nursing home he should of helped her. Story shows as a male nurse you can't win no matter what. I think you get the picture... Good luck with finding ways attracting male nurses... Anthony

Ok I really, REALLY dislike that "Are you man enough.." poster.
The thing that drives men away from nursing is not the stereotypes, its not the helping other nurses lift people, its not the "OMG I just had to examine a woman is she gonna sue?" its the fact that everything is ran by, thought up by, and directed by women. Women and men think differently, they just do. Whether you are a str8 man or gay man you still think differently than the women who made up all the nursing theory rules, wrote the books, made the tests, and instruct the class. The women in charge of all that make things sooooo much more complicated than it needs to be, simply because thats how their minds work. Thats why men dont stay or arent attracted to the profession. In my humble opinion atleast. Or it could just be they dont wanna work with a bunch of gossipy, snarky women then go home to the same thing with their wives?? IDK? (That last bit was a total joke btw... no burning me in effigy please)
LOL I just noticed, the previous posts show my point exactly! the first two post are by women, who are asking the OP for more info before they answer anything. The rest are from guys who just flat out tell ya what they think.LMAO!!! We think in totally different ways people!

It looks like a cross between the village people and a recruitment ad for the rainbow coalition.

I did not have to be "attracted" to study nursing so to say. I have always found science interesting and have always found myself watching those "reality" medical shows, Trauma in the ER, on TV as long as I can remember.
