Make It STOP!

Published

Trigger Warning: This is a general venting thread. Toes may be stepped upon. Snowflakes may face warm temperatures. No one person is the target.

Please, fellow AN participants, make the following stop:

1) Referring to your particular work environment as 'busy'. They are ALL busy. We get it.

2) Using the word 'devastated' in regards to something that does not involve death, loss of limb, or major natural disaster.

3) Talking about the PVT- I think I speak for 99% of the million or so AN members when I say this - "Patience is a virtue"

4) Doing people's homework for them when they have made no effort beyond copy and pasting to do the work themselves.

5) Asking a complex question and, upon getting a thoughtful answer from an expert who took time and energy to compose said answer, failing to thank the stranger who took time to help you.

6) Mistaking the straight truth for bullying.

7) Mistaking an answer that differs from what you want to hear for bullying.

8) Telling experienced nurses you'd NEVER want to be like them when you have no CLUE of how their experience influenced their answer.

Text speak. RU h8trz rding this?

Would you chart in text? Then don't expect us to read it here!

Especially if you are ranting that LPNs aren't real nurses and you are pre-nursing major (I mean what in hades is pre-nursing?)

Well, my new manager actually never spelled out the word YOU for about the first two weeks. Email after email she would write 'U', even to emails that were CC'd to upper management. She must have eventually gotten talked to, because she now writes out the word you!

And flowing locks, no "butch" haircuts (wth?) and eyepatches.

And absolutely NO PARABENS!

I'm guilty of one.

When I was an LPN in LTC I used to think RNs in the hospital were turds about complaining about having 5 patients vs. My 25 in LTC. How hard can 5 be?!

I've been an RN on a Tele unit for 2 months now....I eat all those words every shift í ½í¸‚ . One point for the nursing gods, that's for sure.

Yes! Especially #4!! It bothers me when people ask a homework question and just expect an answer or people to do it for them. I feel like people should say "Well I came to ______ answer and this is how I got here" or "This is why I think _____" Can someone explain...".

and the OP what ever her name is has too much time on her hands to post such a ridiculous post. Go find something to do, love.

I can't speak for everyone, but she created a threat that's provided lots of laughs for me. Love.

no you go away snowflake. Your post says some guy. What is a guy doing in nursing anyway? Go find a real manly job to do. Sissy

How sexist and incredibly sad. That's equal (in my opinion) to telling a woman to stop trying to get an education and career and to just stay at home making babies. I might as well just stop now and wait for my Prince Charming to show up.

Make the sexism stop!
