They are in packs of 2, guys. You need 3 to sustain someone! So many wasted extra saltines...

Don't you just twist the wrapper so that they get the healthy staleness?
And to clarify on the saltine...they are always in the sleeve. The sleeve is slightly ripped down the side when open then twisted closed at the top with an old rubber band from the nurse's desk drawer. That helps give those Saltines just the perfect amount of crunchy staleness.Oh, so healing.
Oh, so healing.
Just go ahead and give them 4. Keep them fed and they won't be stealing food!!
I>LOVE>THIS!!! Good one dakota!!! This is soooo appropriate!!

They sell alcohol?? and I'm not talking prep pads here!!!!
I got my new MacGill catalog. I have been thumbing through it like a little kid with a new Christmas Catalog. I found the page with the Saltine 2-packs. I love the disclaimer- "As this is a perishable food item, shelf life may be extremely short. MacGill cannot guarantee more than a 2-month expiration date on this item." And my first thought is...duhhhh ... really.
Rose Queen- It would be pretty tough to do the wrapper-twist maneuver on these little packets. Do you, or any of the rest of my friends here, have any suggestions to help make sure it is just the right amount of staleness to be acceptable?? :)
This disclaimer seems to be unnecessary .

Got my MacGill catalog this week, too. I'm in heaven.
2 months on Saltines. Puhleeze. I can make those things last 2 full semesters after they're opened. The more stale, the more healing power they have. I'm pretty sure they're better than PRBC's for anemia. I think I read that in a medical journal somewhere...I'll have to google it when I have time.
If I had 2 crackers in the little packets, they'd probably be from my purse after a semi-fancy restaurant visit and after my tube of Saltines emergently ran out for whatever mysterious reason. If I had an extra in the little packet, I'd use scotch tape from my desk drawer (it's right beside the dirty rubber bands) and tape that little packet closed but leave enough air for the perfect amount of healing staleness for that lone little cracker.
