They were both tough for me.

So far I would say its VERY different. You already know how to be a nurse, you know the foundation. Now it is about applying and building your critical thinking skills.

For me...Yes. I never studied in LVN school and passed with a 3.0 and now I am in my second half of my first semester of my LVN to RN program and I am hitting the books. The content is the same, but they require to think deeper and know a lot more.

The LVN program was hard for me. But I didnt have to study as much as the RN program. More critical thinking in the RN program... and you are building on the foundation you already have as an LVN.

The only difference between my LPN and RN program is one critical care class. Its just jumping through hoops. I'm very frustrated at the lack of difference between my LPN and RN education.

Ive talked to people that went to an RN program, dropped out, did lpn, then bridged over and theyve all said that the lpn program was so much easier and made rn school so much smoother.
I've heard the same. Hopefully the next 12 months will go by smoothly.

They were both intense for me.
I went for my BSN; the assessment class was more in depth; learning the role of the RN in terms of leadership were MUCH different, learning EBP and having a public health course did expand my nursing skill set.
