This thread is for those who is about to start LPN program. It will be great if we keep each other posted on our excited journey, share the experience and maybe answer questions that others will have about the program.
So, i guess i start. On July 11 i will be starting 11 months long program at one of the local technical schools. My mandatory orientation is on June 10 where, according to letter that I received, we will be given our first homework (a month before the actual course starts!!!). I am 31 y.o married and have a 3 y.o son. I work as a CNA and I will continue working p.t during the program. I am very nervous because I haven't take any science classes since high school. English is my second language but that will not be a problem. I chose the LPN path because I love to work at the patience bedside, i can earn decent money and gain more hands on experience. I am planing to further my education after becoming LPN.
I am wishing everyone who is about to start or just started good luck! Lets do it together

Hello all, I start my 10 month practical nursing program in August 2014 and will finish in June 2015. It's at a state technical college so the program is very affordable.
I have two young sons and a great support system. I'm also about to start a CNA job at a local hospital in their flex program so I can make my own schedule.
Orientation is a little more than two weeks away and classes begin about 3 weeks after that. I'm excited and more than ready to take this first of many steps in what I hope will be a long and rewarding career.
I'm a 22 year old guy. I just got accepted to Atlantic Technical Center LPN program in Fort Lauderdale, FL I'm starting on August 18 can't wait I'm so excited. I've been a CNA for the past 3 years at a Acute Care Hospital, so I've just decided I might as well make it a career. After I finish I'm going to do the LPN-RN Bridge Program at Broward College so I can get my RN ASN Degree.

Good luck! I am starting my 10-month program in a few weeks. I also have two young kids (daughters, ages 5 and 8) and a good support system and plan on working as a CNA once I get certified through the LPN program which should be sometime in October. It would be great to keep in touch and see how things are going for eachother! Not too often I see other students around here with families to raise and other obligations as well besides just school.
I just graduated my LPN program in June and am starting on my bridge to BSN pre reqs. The LPN program is intense. But completly doable, just be very dillegent!!!
I always hear ppl say intense and I don't mean to ask a stupid question but what is intense? They give a lot of work? They work itself is hard? Like I just want to know

I started class on June 30th, I was exhausted! Monday I have a quiz on two Chapters from Nursing Funds and Wednesday two chapters on A&P! It's a lot of work and isn't easy getting up to make it to class by 7am! But I'm loving it!
