LPN starting pay $26.50!

Nurses LPN/LVN

My brother just finished up his LPN school a few months ago, he got hired here in the metro detroit area in MI for $26.50 starting.

I am attending the same school he went to, I am half way done and will be graduating in 9 months I was hoping people in other states could help me guide my search for high-paying LPN cities in different states.

I am in NY now looking for a job, I am living in Brooklyn. Anyone has any idea where they are hiring now, I won't mind working in Queens, Bronx, Manhattan and Long Island area too. Or in Pennsylvania, somebody told me there are a lot of jobs down there. Any advice will be appreciated. I really need a job. I am an LPN.

did u find a job cause im looking for a lp job in nyc too. i need help!!

Specializes in Telemetry, Case Management.

WOW!!! I have 25 years experience and have yet to crack the $20/hr mark for straight time. I can get more than that as agency, but not as a regular employee. I work in the Louisville KY area.

Specializes in Acute,Subacute,Long-term Care.

wow! i'd love to make that kind of money. i've been an lpn since 1998, i work in a ltcf and make around $19/hr. which is a good amount, but $26.50 would be so much nicer and make living much easier. i live in nebraska. good luck when you graduate and are practicing. i hope you can find a job that pays that well.

Specializes in Cardiac Care.

I just landed my first LTC job as a new grad at $24/hr second shift. A few of the other interviews I had gone on were in the $19 range. One of my friends I graduated with was interviewing for a few and they were trying to low ball her at $15 and hour, but she landed a job in an Acute Care Long Term Care Center on a vent unit as a new grad for $20/HR

The cost of living is not as low here as people think that's for sure!

Specializes in Mostly geri :).
