Hi all,
I wanted to start a thread for those who are applying to Loyola University of Chicago's ABSN program for the Fall 2021 cohort.
I still have a few pre-recs to complete, but I am planning to submit my application next month. I would be moving from out of state and Loyola is my top choice program.
Did anyone else's advisor tell them they'd know a decision 2 weeks after their application went "under review"? Mine called and said it was placed under review on Friday and I'd know a decision in 12-14 business days... which seems long? Another advisor told me it was 2-3 weeks from submission to decision so I wasn't expecting another possible 3 weeks! Probably just being too impatient ??♀️
@Eden Warda My advisor said that it would take 2-3 weeks to hear back too. She didn't say that it was currently being reviewed but since I submitted all my material it should be ready for the review process.
@Moutaingirl1456 How long did it take for you to get a decision after you submitted everything required?

I received my acceptance letter for the Maywood campus! I am so excited to start my career. I'm excited to meet those that are accepted and crossing my fingers for those still in the process. Message me and lets connect. I am moving to Chicago from Denver, Colorado. I am very nervous/excited. I am hoping to find a roommate to split costs eventually. So happy things are finally moving along. YAY!
Congrats! That's so exciting! Do you mind if I ask how many of your science pre-recs you had complete when you applied?
Hey all! Congrats to those of you already getting accepted. I still haven't submitted my app just yet (I want my essay to be perfect). All of my pre-reqs were already completed so everything moved fairly quickly. I had two phone calls with an advisor and then she sent me the application.
I was actually offered the option to apply to the Spring 2020 cohort because everything was completed but I chose to decline. I am applying for the Downers Grove campus (hybrid program) because I still need to be able to work.
A few questions: Have you all thought about how you're going to pay for the 57k tuition? If you will be working while in the program, how will you accomplish that? I'm a teacher now so I will have to leave my current job if accepted in order to find something more flexible.
Did anyone's advisor have to do anything such as let the admissions committee know when you submitted your application? Mine seemed hesitant about when the admissions team started reviewing my app and gave an estimate saying it should take 2-3 weeks but it's already been 2 weeks. Just making sure we didn't miss anything that will delay the decision longer...

Mine advisor was the same, kept saying maybe even 4 weeks or so. But I don’t think they are involved much, besides screening the candidates. Wishing you good luck. Have you logged back to confirm you have everything checked on the list?
