Loyola Chicago ABSN Fall 2021

Published

Hi all,

I wanted to start a thread for those who are applying to Loyola University of Chicago's ABSN program for the Fall 2021 cohort.

I still have a few pre-recs to complete, but I am planning to submit my application next month. I would be moving from out of state and Loyola is my top choice program.

You’re right. Yeah I have my official ones uploaded too. Hopefully the other student is able to add theirs as well.

I also talked to my advisor today and she just said she noticed a “score card” added to my file from admissions on Friday so I guess that meant it was under review. No decision yet. I submitted first week of January.

Were you able to see the score card on your application when you logged in?

Hey! No, I didn’t see it. My advisor was the one who mentioned she saw it on her end.

I just got my official letter today. It was the last thing I got. I started getting small update, the admit checklist, then a financial aid email from Loyola, then today I saw a school ID #, then it was asking for $500 deposit, I was confused since there was still no official letter but then I got it!

I hope everyone starts getting more info soon. I’m relocating back home from cali and would like to see if anyone else is in the same boat.

Congratulations!! I think I finally got everything in so hopefully I'll be able to get a decision soon...

Would you be willing to share your stats? If you don't feel comfortable you definitely don't have to ?

Yeah of course. I don’t mind. My background was in business and my undergrad GPA was literally a 3.0. I did have a high GPA for my science prerequisites so that helped raised my GPA because they combine all the classes. And I didn’t have any nursing experience but I did volunteer at a hospital this year. I still am working on my class two classes  as well, so stay hopeful. I’ll like to know your stats if you’re okay with that as well. I also applied on January 4th so I think that’s why I’m hearing back this soon.

Hi all! I applied January 4th and I noticed today my status has changed to admit checklist, so I think I'm in! It's my first nursing school acceptance ☺️

Congratulations! Yes, that’s the first change I noticed as well. Hopefully there’s more updates soon, I kept logging in to check.

My cumulative GPA with all my prerequisites minus the one that I'm taking this semester is around a 3.1! I have some CNA experience and did okay in most of my prerequisites except for Organic Chemistry. I submitted my application on 1/6 but my last transcript finally got uploaded on 1/21 so I'm assuming it's going to take a while to get a decision.

Ugh, Chemistry is my last class! I hope it isn’t too bad. But your stats look good. Just stay optimistic for sure.

Hey yall!

I received my acceptance letter for the Maywood campus! I am so excited to start my career. I'm excited to meet those that are accepted and crossing my fingers for those still in the process. Message me and lets connect. I am moving to Chicago from Denver, Colorado. I am very nervous/excited. I am hoping to find a roommate to split costs eventually. So happy things are finally moving along. YAY!
