Loyola Chicago ABSN Fall 2021

Hi all,

I wanted to start a thread for those who are applying to Loyola University of Chicago's ABSN program for the Fall 2021 cohort.

I still have a few pre-recs to complete, but I am planning to submit my application next month. I would be moving from out of state and Loyola is my top choice program.

@sunvalley did you hear back about how long it would take to review your application? And also, were all your supplemental materials like rec letters and transcripts submitted by the first week? I also submitted mine the first week but having trouble with one of my transcripts not showing up along with my AP score ?

@Rosieuri Hi! My enrollment advisor sent me the application link on the 21st of December and I requested all my transcripts on the 22nd because I was worried that they would take longer to be received. But they were all in not too long after! The one that was mailed took just a bit longer, especially with the holiday season.

I haven't heard anything specific on timeline, and haven't heard back from my enrollment advisor since I emailed her the first week of January!

Have you contacted your school or emailed the Loyola at [email protected]?

@Rosieuri My letters of rec/essay/resume were in! So it is ready for review, I just haven't heard anything at all!

@sunvalley Did you add all the schools that you sent a transcript in for in your application? I forgot to add one of the schools so I was wondering if that was a reason why it wasn't being added to my checklist. However, I feel like that shouldn't get in the way from it being attached to my checklist... Also wow you got a link sent to you so early ? My advisor said the application wouldn't open until the week of January 4th

@Rosieuri Oh maybe that is why! I would call or email your advisor or Loyola directly!

I think they told me they just wouldn't begin review until the week of January 4th. So I just got everything ready to submit between then and the first week of January! I don't think it will make any difference because from what we know, they haven't even began the reviewing process?!

@sunvalley It seems like there's some complications with my application material not showing up after calling Loyola but hopefully things will work out soon... Best of luck on your application ?

Hello there, 

So I applied the day the application opened, January 4th. They did give me a call stating that they got more applications than they anticipated and that they will notify me of my acceptance/rejection this week! Ah crossing my fingers.

Hope your problem gets fixed. But I remember my counselor told me they only need the unofficial transcripts right now and if you log into your application account you can upload any additional file so that it is still available for admissions. So hopefully you can add it and not wait in the school.

@Vgann20 I believe the admissions advisors ask you for your unofficial transcripts just to have on file but I think to review your application, you would need to submit the official ones through their transcript sites

You’re right. Yeah I have my official ones uploaded too. Hopefully the other student is able to add theirs as well.

I also talked to my advisor today and she just said she noticed a “score card” added to my file from admissions on Friday so I guess that meant it was under review. No decision yet. I submitted first week of January.
