Loyola Chicago ABSN Fall 2021
I remember my submission said something about what I may be able to take out too, and I think it coincided with the yearly max for an independent student. I just don't know if that will actually happen. Sounds like most people take out private loans... my friend in the program took pretty much the whole tuition out in Discover loans, so I don't think the school has loans, but I could be wrong? I had heard of other schools doing that which is super nice and convenient! I'm hoping to get by with savings and federal loans, otherwise I'll take out private. My advisor asked if I had a co-signer ready for private loans, so if that's what it comes down to I'd look into seeing who would for you as well!

This is the resource I found a couple months back that may help! https://studentaid.gov/understand-aid/types/loans/subsidized-unsubsidized I don't know your financial situation, but I am considered an independent. It looks like I would max out at $57K unsubsidized loans total, but with a max of $12.5K/year (so really since the program probably only covers 1 or 2 FAFSA years, I wouldn't actually get $57K). Plus I've already borrowed some. I don't know how much say Loyola has in what we can borrow, so who knows if we're actually eligible for that much or not. I have very low expectations of getting federal loans, but still hopeful! ?

Congrats! My advisor called me today and I asked when FAFSA information would be coming out and she seemed to think they would start coming out mid-March to beginning of April. I put down my deposit this week, though so I'm already accepting my financial fate LOL ?. I hope you're able to get that information ASAP if that's what's holding you back from making a decision!

Loyola Chicago ABSN Fall 2021
Just logged onto my portal and saw it switched to admit checklist! ? Trying not to get too excited before anything official comes, but it looks like I will be attending this fall! So excited to meet everyone! I’m currently in the IL burbs already, but will probably be looking to move closer to the city/Maywood ?

Sadly none on my end. Talked to my advisor a couple weeks ago.. she hoped I'd find out last week but that didn't happen. I applied 6 weeks ago so the waiting hasn't been fun ?

Same here. I was told 12-14 business days last Monday 1/25. Submitted my app on 1/12 and it was in review on 1/22 and still haven't gotten any update via email or portal.. I'm hoping we hear soon! ?

Loyola Chicago ABSN Fall 2021
Did anyone else's advisor tell them they'd know a decision 2 weeks after their application went "under review"? Mine called and said it was placed under review on Friday and I'd know a decision in 12-14 business days... which seems long? Another advisor told me it was 2-3 weeks from submission to decision so I wasn't expecting another possible 3 weeks! Probably just being too impatient ??♀️

I haven't seen any changes either! But I think mine was sent in a little later (submitted 1/12 and my last rec letter came in the 14th). Kinda nervous that they had so many more applicants than they expected, now I feel like mine was sent in too late ? @Vgann20 I agree, I think that is a good sign for you! ?

https://uao.luc.edu/apply/ Hopefully this link works for you! I had to dig around a little, but it's there. Besides your phone call and validating what pre-reqs you've done/need, I think you should be able to start the application!
