sure they are in minot nd but they have dozens of listings. last night i worked with a physician who just came from there and she said they are very short of nurses are are hiring all they can get. they have listings for everything from icu to swing bed to nicu. here are the listed requirements for an icu posting and their website:
minimum qualifications and requirements
licenses and certifications required
current north dakota rn licensure or licensure from approved compact state and bls certification
educational requirements
graduate from an accredited school of nursing
experience requirements
hospital experience is preferred, but not required.
special skills or training requirements
as required by specific units
*** The reason for all the job is cause that area is experiencing a HUGE population explosion related to the vast oil fields that have been found there and that recent technology has allow them to exploit it. Here in the upper mid west there are North Dakota job fairs all the time. There is going to be a really big one on May 13th in Minneapolis. There is also a housing shortage. A neighbor who is going to a job interview (truck driver) there next week was forced to get a motel room two hours away from Minot. Several local contractors have been going over there to build houses and apartments.
It's not a case of the hospital being a dump and a bad place to work that they can't hire anyone.
Google "North Dakota Oil" and you can read all about it.
Question, are they hiring LPNs for RN jobs...My reason for asking is I'm a hospital LPN have been for 4 1/2 years. I work pool, ER/ICU/MED/SURG/PEDS in a small hospital in Georgia. Would be willing to move if I could get a NICU job there. If you know any info on this let me know... Thanks!!
Sometimes you must brave the cold. It all depends on how much you want the job. I am in Canada, and I moved to a small town where the winters are looong and cold like ND. I hate the cold. But guess what? It was totally worth it, because I'm getting great experience, and I'm making about 20 thousand more a year than if I would have stayed at home.

*** My advice would be to follow the link I provided in the OP and view the many LPN openings they have listed.

I spoke with a travel agency last year and they said housing is very hard to find. Some of their travel nurses were staying in trailers on hospital grounds because there were not apartments or houses available. It is all due to the oil boom.
If you could find a place to say, I am sure it would be a great opportunity.
