Los Angeles County of Nursing - Fall 2014

Published

This is for those of us that will be applying to LA county college of nursing and allied health's fall 2014 semester. I will be submitting my application for the basic RN program tomorrow... Yayyy!!! I am beyond excited, I can't believe this time has finally come!

I suggest she call and ask if she can hand deliver.

Perhaps I heard wrong but when I went to the information session, someone asked if they can drop it off and they said no.

Ok I'm going to mail mine off then lol I have to wait for my ink to be delivered!

When i mailed in mine, i did a delivery confirmation. I received confirmation of delivery right away. Then a few days after that, i called to confirm they received it.

Sweet! That's what I was going to do too.

No one has even replied to my thread for 2015 lol

Hey everyone!

I've been somewhat MIA on this thread because I wasn't sure what school I was going to attend.

I've been accepted into some BSN programs but I think I'm going to attend County with you all due... as righteousjenn mentioned, BSN programs are expensive $$$. LOL

I've held off on doing some of the requirements cause I wasn't sure of what I was going to do but I'm 90% sure that I will be going to County so I have gotten started.

I just wanted to ask if you all knew whether the health clearance form is suppose to be completed before we go in for the live scan? I believe it isn't supposed to be done but I just wanted to make sure! :)

I was told to make the hr/scan appt first (once you've completed the online portion. Meanwhile you can be working on your health clearances.

Hello all!

I definitely made up my mind and will be attending County with you all this Fall! :D

I'm so so so excited!

I have some catching up to do since I wasn't sure where I was going to attend (didn't want to waste money in vain).

Now that I know where I'm going, I'm getting everything together.

I have my live scan appointment this week! Have any of you already done it?

So excited for you! I'm getting my livescan done tomorrow morning. I just got my BLS certificate today. I attempted to get my Hep B vaccination today, but my doctor's office doesn't give them, so now I'm trying to locate an office that does. It has to be done in office for my insurance to cover it. Let's see, what else? I need one more required book. I have my shoes and stethoscope ordered. I'm going to get my other vaccines through health services. I don't qualify for financial aid unfortunately. I think that's it for now. :)

Do you guys pay for the livescan/background check? And do you guys pay the the vaccines and stuff through health services?

Livescan is free. They recommend getting vaccinations from our own doctors, but if it's going to cost a lot of money, we were told (someone correct me if I'm wrong) that we can get vaccinated at no cost through health services.
