Los Angeles County of Nursing - Fall 2014

This is for those of us that will be applying to LA county college of nursing and allied health's fall 2014 semester. I will be submitting my application for the basic RN program tomorrow... Yayyy!!! I am beyond excited, I can't believe this time has finally come!

Hello Smylee! Congrats on getting into LA County! I wanted to ask for your advice on whether or not you think I should apply or not. My points I calculated came up to only 76 points (3.0 in sci prereqs, 83% TEAS first try). Is it worth applying if the site states that points for acceptance are usually in the 80s... What is your input? Thanks for the insight.

Thank you so much! Honestly, there is never any harm in trying, you increase your chances of getting in if you apply than if you don't apply at all. Not to mention, if you don't get accepted this semester you will get an additional point for next semester. Plus, no one knows what the cut off is going to be, it all depends on the number of applications received. I believe that the average science GPA is 3.5 for sciences. Me personally, I would apply and pray and see what happens. If it is meant for to get in this semester, you will. Don't worry, try and see and go from there :) good luck, I pray that you get accepted to whichever program that is meant for you :) I'm a true believer that everyone ends up where they are supposed to be, whether it's now or at a later time.

Hi Everyone,

Good Luck this semester. Unfortunately, I will not be joining you guys, I decided to push my seat back to start with the Jan. 2015 class. It'll give me time to work a little longer, save some moolah and for me to spend time with friends and family, that I know I won't see once school starts. So, best wishes and I'll hopefully see some of you in January.
