Lonestar Fall 2013 hopefuls

U.S.A. Texas

Published

Hi everyone!

I just submitted my application for the Fall 2013 Lonestar College basic track ADN program. LSC-Montgomery is my first choice, followed by LSC-North Harris, and LSC-Tomball.

I applied with an 11.81. Has anyone else out there applied, or are you preparing to apply?

Looking forward to starting a supportive and informative Lonestar thread, as applicants have the past few years

Who told you that you needed a cuff? I just finished second semester and was never required to use a cuff. In fact we didn't practice bps and they are available at the hospital during clinical...(Is this a new requirement)?[/quote']

We've been practicing BPs all week and have a skills check-off on it.

Does anyone know what is the board of nurse examiners nursing practice act by the Texas board of nursing that's on the txt book list for NH? Thanks

I saw it at the NH bookstore today. The last one was being purchased. I finished up today NRSG and we received an email saying we would use our skills books for the most part for the 1st 3 weeks.

Hey guys,

I've just finished RNSG 1105 class, and it was a lot of reading. I have one question. I have taken all non-nursing classes and today my classmates told me that we need to take BIOL 1322 Nutrition class that is required for the ADN program. I have looked for this class on the list of classes for the ADN program in the 2013 - 2014 catalog, but have not found any information about requirement of this class. Does anyone know if this BIOL 1322 is required for ADN program or not?

Here are non-nursing classes that I took

- BIOL 2401 , BIOL 2402 , BIOL 2420

- PSYC 2301, PSYC 2314

- SOCI 1301, ARTS 1301, KINE 1111

- ENGL 1301, SPCH 1318 , MATH 2413

- RNSG 1301

Please let me know what prerequisite and co-requisite courses I should take.

Thanks!

Nutrition is a BSN requirement not ADN unless its something new for later years. But, it's not on our current list.

@lth1123: Thanks for your reply. I think so too. Do you think all non-nursing classes that I have taken meet requirement for corequisite courses for ADN program? So if I dont plan to take BSN, these non-nursing classes is enough for ADN program right?

Does anyone know where you can get a flu vaccine at yet? My doctors office says they wont have them in until late September-early October. I've been calling Walgreens to see if they've gotten them in yet, but they said either the end of this month or early September and the deadline to have it done is Sept. 1st.

The lab professor said a flu shot company will be on campus (Red Oak) on the 27th of Aug. You might want to verify during camp wanna win.

Thank you! I just called a Randall's store by my house, and they said that they have some, so I will go there and get one tmrw. :)

I think that's everything. If you look on the Lone Star web you can verify that.

For anyone taking microbiology, I have the book and lab book new that I need to get rid of. Just email me

Does anyone know if we'd have a pop quiz on dosage calculation on the first day of class (North Harris)?

Thank alot lth1123! I have also emailed the nursing advisor to make sure and you are right. I just got back from her that nutrition is not a requirement for ADN program. :D
