Lonestar Fall 2013 hopefuls

Hi everyone!

I just submitted my application for the Fall 2013 Lonestar College basic track ADN program. LSC-Montgomery is my first choice, followed by LSC-North Harris, and LSC-Tomball.

I applied with an 11.81. Has anyone else out there applied, or are you preparing to apply?

Looking forward to starting a supportive and informative Lonestar thread, as applicants have the past few years

I am applying to the ADN Lonestar nursing program on Friday- for fall 2013 start. Montgomery, North Harris, then Tomball in that order for priority of schools. I have an 11.2 and am a little nervous. I went to a nursing info session at montgomery this fall and was told that the cut off for north harris was a 8.6 last application period (seems really low but gives me hope) and that montgomery is 11.2-11.4. I am wondering if i should switch and make NH my first choice since thats the one i am most likely to get in to...any thoughts??? :facepalm:

With your score there is NO DOUBT that you will get in..at all! You will get into your first choice. a girl i work with got in last year to montgomery with an 11.6 and got in with flying colors..i am jealous!!!

8.6 is pretty low. I was accepted to Kingwood program last fall for Spring 2013, as an ALTERNATE with an 11.2.. But I decided to wait and attend North Harris this fall.. good luck!!!

Hey guys, I also will be applying to lsc-montgomery not this year though but next year in 2014 in January! LSC-Montgomery is my first choice and my only choice as it's the closest one for me. I still have A&PII, Micro, and pharmacology to take before I apply and the HESI exam to take which I plan to take in the summer. I'm so nervous about the HESI! How did you guys study for it/what book did you guys use? I really would like to take it just once and b done with it ..of course with a good score!

**For those going to Montgomery, if y'all get in which I'm pretty sure y'all will(those r some pretty nice scores I hope I can score as well as y'all!) can u guys let me know what the schedule is like? For labs, clinicals, classroom days? That way I know what to expect.

Just a heads up. The cut off last year for Montgomery was wrong.

Someone (no one will admit it) made a mistake and overlooked a bunch of people in the 11.6-11.7 range, resulting in people with lower scores being accepted(11.2-11.4) while people with higher scores were put on the waitlist. The only reason we found out was some of those people knew other applicants with lower scores who got in. They talked to the staff and were brought in off the waitlist.

I really hate to think how many people with high scores were rejected erroneously and still have no idea. And we have no idea if it was just our school or district-wide since we're all pooled together.

Moral of the story...the system isn't perfect, so don't be afraid to double check if something doesn't seem right!

I am applying with an 11.4132 Montgomery first choice north Harris second... I hope I get in!!!

Ok, I took my HESI yesterday. I will be applying with a 11.22 I sure hope this will be enough! I put NH as my first choice, but I applied to all 4. Since I'm not from Houston, the location doesn't matter I'll just move accordingly. Good luck to you all and I hope t meet some of you soon. I'm so nervous and excited.

@kevin00i talked to all the schools and all but Montgomery's cut off was in the 10 range
