Hi everyone!
I just submitted my application for the Fall 2013 Lonestar College basic track ADN program. LSC-Montgomery is my first choice, followed by LSC-North Harris, and LSC-Tomball.
I applied with an 11.81. Has anyone else out there applied, or are you preparing to apply?
Looking forward to starting a supportive and informative Lonestar thread, as applicants have the past few years

Is orientation all day or a few hours?
I found my acceptance letter from last years North Harris program. I said in a previous post that I got my letter around April 9th, but as I am looking at the letter it is dated April 16th. :-/ Hopefully, we'll know this week and not have to wait 2-3 weeks more.
At any rate, to answer your question we had two options for orientation:
Thursday, May 17th 2012 from 9am-1pm -or- Wednesday, June 6th 2012 from 1-5pm
I attended the 17th, as I wanted to get it over with. I am guessing that most people attended the 17th as the room was pretty packed.
Thank you for offering to answer any of our questions. We are all nerve wracked right now, as I'm sure you were too when you were getting started. I have a question...I've read on past posts that at orientation we are assigned to homework before the start of class (reading chapters and such)...Was there an exam over that material at the very start of the semester, and if so, how hard of a test would you say it was? Any advise on how to prepare for it, or main things we should focus on?
My last post was intended for ikegad2002 but if anyone else knows that would be great, too. I tried to post my comment as a reply, but I guess I didn't do it right. I'm new to this site, so I'm still trying to figure it out.[/quote']I can't speak for all the programs, but we were assigned 30 chapters of reading at orientation. It wasn't "homework" per say, just a suggestion. Those 30 chapters were officially assigned once the school year began, and the first test was 3 weeks later, so not enough time to actually read everything if you wait. Those first few weeks are extra long days full of information being thrown at you. Flat out exhausting. So I recommend getting the reading done early.
HI
I applied for the Transition program at Montgomery and I have been reading everyone's post to see what was current. I have been out of town since Thur and just made it back today. Anyway long story short my acceptance letter was in my mail box when I checked it today. YES!!! It was sent out on the 28th and must have came today. So hopefully you guys will be receiving yours soon. Good Luck and best wishes to everyone.

Congrats! I'm first year at Montgomery right now, so I'll see you in August!
Thanks,
And I made a mistake because the mail doesn't run on Sunday I meant Saturday. I believe the basic track and the transition students combine after you have completed your first year in the basic track.
Yes, I hope to meet you in Aug and looking foward to start the program and get things rolling.
Again Good Luck to all. Anything worth having is worth waiting for. You will know soon.
