Okay, for all of us that did not get into the Lone Star Fall 2010 program and are trying again for the Spring...here we go again.
I'm retaking AP2 this summer (I have a B so now I want an A) to increase my points. After that I just don't know what else to do because I have all co-reqs completed, CPR done and Immunizations done. What are your plans to increase your chances of getting in for the Spring?
Thanks everyone for all your support!! I allowed myself to have a pitty party for about 30 min and then I said "hey suck it up, you still have kw and you still might be able to get into the cyfair program." I am really hoping I hear some good news with kw, I just want to get into a nursing program so bad!!! I guess I should count my blessings that I am an alternate. I am just amazed how high the cut off was this semester.
I've heard from previous semesters that they usually get all the alternates in so I would not worry yet!!! You'll most likely be right there with everyone!
That makes me feel better! I just called up to Cyfair and I asked how many alternates they have this semester, and she said it changes every semester and she can not give me any information. She said I might get accepted into kw or I might be an alternate on with them as well. She also said that they let alternates in all the way up till the first day of school. I guess I should just move to Houston when I was orginally planning to just in case I get accepted. Now I have to go through more weeks of anticipation and hope for Kingwood.

Tell you what....if you can get me into the 2nd BSN program at UH, I will give you my spot! :) That is my number one choice but won't even find out if I get in until after their Oct. 1st deadline. And, there are probably other people like me that have applied more than one place and LSC may not be their first choice. I wouldn't sweat it yet!
Well I still didn't get a letter in the mail... I know I'm not in, but was hoping I could find out if I made it on the alternate list.
franksl482- do you know when your letter was mailed? You are so close to the cutoff... you have a great chance of getting in! Just keep up the positive thinking! I am trying to do the same! I keep telling myself that everything happens for a reason and if I am accepted into the Fall 2011 program my youngest daughter will be more prepared for day care and my oldest will then be going to school all day which would make it easier on me.
Also does anyone know if there is any way to see what questions you missed on the HESI? I would like to be better prepared the next time around so I don't have to go through this again!

hahahaha kmbrlyw I would so take your spot. I also want to get my BSN and then get my masters. I have finished all my pre-reqs for my bachlors, but I need to study for the hesi ap portion. Good Luck with UH, it would be awesome if you got in everywhere that you applied for and then you get to pick where you want to go.

Hey tmrine my letter does not actually say when it was mailed, it just says it was mailed from zip code 77433. Keep your spirits up and your letter will come soon. Hopefully you will be an alternate with me and we can stress together lol. Also we still have kw letters that will be sent out soon. I have a great website that I will find and give to you for the hesi test. I made a 98 on the reading hesi. If you want to brush up on math there is a great book called Math for Nurses by Vikki Raines. She tutors up at my college in Temple and she is awesome. Her book that she got published is great!! It shows how to do every problem that will be on the Hesi test and all the problems are worked out step by step in the back of the book.
Had I had an A in Eng 1 I would of had an 11.912 and then I would have been in for sure.

Pity parties are good only if they do not take you down! Sounds like you are in great spirits and I bet you will get in. Stay positive. I am shaking in my boots now because my score is 11.652. A lot of people have this score. Nervous...
I'm a guy and I am originally from Canada too! Congrats to all the CyFair accepted people. Now we wait for Kingwood...
The waiting game is the worst part of this entire process. I pray to God that I get accepted to Kingwood. Congrats to CyFair acceptance people as well. Oh yeah LiLGTO I'm from Canada too! lol!
