Lone Star Spring 2011

Okay, for all of us that did not get into the Lone Star Fall 2010 program and are trying again for the Spring...here we go again.

I'm retaking AP2 this summer (I have a B so now I want an A) to increase my points. After that I just don't know what else to do because I have all co-reqs completed, CPR done and Immunizations done. What are your plans to increase your chances of getting in for the Spring?

hey guys, i just got my letter and i am an alternate. im so bummed!!!

holy crap! that means the cutoff was 11.652 way higher this time, wow!

well, franksl482 look at the bright side... if there is someone that turns it down or someone who hasn't had their heb b shots, etc,.... you'll be in :)

I know I cant believe I didnt get in. I opened the mail and there was the letter all by itself. I touched the letter and it felt thick so I was all excited thinking Im in. I opened up my letter and BAM....I see alternate, and please fill out the information on chance that you might be accepted.

Because Im an alternate does that knock me out of getting into my second choice Kingwood?

Well I guess I don't really need to get my letter now... I know I'm not in! Man, this is really devastating! Now I will have to wait another year.... :confused:

I know how you feel, I was turned down twice before. Well if not for Spring, you can try for Fall....

Thanks FruityPebble!!! Its nice to know someone has been in my shoes! She said that they fill the spots up first for Kingwood and then they do second choice. I feel like my chances are not that good to get into second choice because Im sure the spots fill up fast. This is my third time to apply. I guess I can say...well I have been denied twice at least Im moving up to an alternate lol.

And don't lose hope on getting in as an alternate, you could be pleasantly surprised!

You are right there on the bubble, I think you will get in. Alot of people probably applied to many schools, even to BSN programs, once they get accepted there some openings will come your way.

I bet you end up getting to choose between kingwood and cyfair. Being a cyfair alternate will not knock you out of the running for kingwood...also It was my understanding that a good number of the alternates end up getting in because of declines. I was looking through old threads where a girl was in just that same situation. She had accepted her second choice and then her first choice called her up. I really feel that you will end up in one of the two. I can't believe how freaky high the cutoff was!
