Lone Star Spring 2011

Okay, for all of us that did not get into the Lone Star Fall 2010 program and are trying again for the Spring...here we go again.

I'm retaking AP2 this summer (I have a B so now I want an A) to increase my points. After that I just don't know what else to do because I have all co-reqs completed, CPR done and Immunizations done. What are your plans to increase your chances of getting in for the Spring?

I'm a guy and I am originally from Canada too! Congrats to all the CyFair accepted people. Now we wait for Kingwood...

My brother and I are both are applying for the RN program at Kingwood. We are from Toronto Canada but we have lived here almost 31 years. Were still not used to this heat lol......

I believe someone here said kingwood was taking 60 this year....not sure 'cause I previously had thought they took 80 also. Thats prob something they would/could tell u if u called.

Holy Cow that cut off number is beast!!!!!!!!! I guess at least we have the opportunity to work on our ranking. One of my professors told me that California does a drawing to decide who makes it into the program so it is completely up to chance. I hope everyone on the alternates lists makes it in. I will keep my fingers crossed.

That is why I moved here from Cali. (Well, that and my family lives here LOL) But I've been here a year now and when I was in Cali, none of my friends were getting in they all said it was a lottery system and the waiting list for other schools was 3 years long at least! I said forget that!

Hey FruityPebble, what part of Cali are you from? When I was 18 I lived in Sherman Oaks area for a year. Its so freaking expensive in Cali so I had to move back lol. I cant believe how long the wait is for nursing school out there plus the lottery system sucks. Could you imagine if you had a perfect score and you didnt get in because they didnt pull your name in the lottery. OMG I would go mad!!

I cant believe how long the wait is for nursing school out there plus the lottery system sucks. Could you imagine if you had a perfect score and you didnt get in because they didnt pull your name in the lottery. OMG I would go mad!!

I worked in San Francisco and lived in the bay area for 9 years. It's gorgeous there, too bad it's so freaking expensive. Houses START at $450,000 for a 2 bedroom old house in the bay area. You can get a mansion for that money here LOL

I am about to pull my hair out. So I just checked KW's website, as I have done constantly for the past few days, and they removed the virtual tour link from the nursing page. Where is the information regarding acceptance/denial letters? Why is this taking so long? *slapping myself* Snap out of it. I have waited this long so I guess I can wait a few more weeks or months! :eek:

I know!!! I looked at some houses in LA and they looked like shacks for half a million dollars. There prices are crazy!

Is it just me or does it seem like they said it would be "two weeks"....two weeks ago! lol

Everyday the answer is "two weeks"

Maybe they think if they tell us that we'll stop bugging them...for a least two weeks.

I personally don't think they should have put that notification letters will be sent out in September on the website and then tell us October! Errrr! :uhoh3:
