Lone Star Spring 2011

Published

Okay, for all of us that did not get into the Lone Star Fall 2010 program and are trying again for the Spring...here we go again.

I'm retaking AP2 this summer (I have a B so now I want an A) to increase my points. After that I just don't know what else to do because I have all co-reqs completed, CPR done and Immunizations done. What are your plans to increase your chances of getting in for the Spring?

There should have been a disclaimer at the bottom of our applications that read: "waiting on acceptance letters may cause heart palpitations or lead to delusions." :D :uhoh3:

ROFL!! You are too funny!!

Hang in there everyone, the waiting will be over soon. If you don't get in for spring keep trying, this was my 3rd time applying and the cut off seems to get higher each time, but remember, in the fall they have 4 schools accepting not just 2, and you have time to improve your score. frank, if you retake that english class online during a mini mester you can get your A and raise your score. we will all be nurses someday soon!!!:)

That's histerical. :lol2:

i seriously can't believe how high the cutoff is.. but i have also heard that most of the alternates get in, so y'all keep your chins up!!! my husband is going to apply for the fall of 2011, and he's the one who originally started following this thread, and i showed him the post where it said franksl482 is an alternate and i thought i was going to have to pick his jaw up off the floor!! crazy. anyway, i hope they really are just telling y'all 2 weeks...seems a little ridiculous that they can't just send them all out together.

I wonder if all of the Cyfair applicants with 11.652 got in? I see where one did get accepted but the others have not responded. That is my score and I am nervous now. I just want to know so I can plan what my next move will be. I already completed my drug test, shots and background investigation. All I need is the acceptance letter. I am ready to go! :D

It sure would have been nice for all of the letters to go out at the same time. The way I see it being an alternate means get ready for acceptance. I'm sure the person that got the call after I gave up my spot did not think he or she had a chance. It happens. I am so glad I have all of you guys to vent my feelings with, because no one else understands what we are going through.

Thank you j.o.mama!

FYI Kingwood applicants. I called 20 min ago and was told they have accepted 80 students and letters go out in two weeks. I asked how many applied and she said letters go out two weeks. I asked if they received more than 80 and she said yes. So depending on how many applied for sure 80 are in. Good luck!!

I hope we drive them nuts. They shouldn't tell us September and then not send them out until mid October, people have to make plans. Geez. Most applicants are older and have families and if not we all have obligations! This is not really that difficult of a process as evidenced by Cyfair having it already complete. Also they need to communicate without us having to call over and over (web site hello!). Can you tell my patience is wearing thin??? :flmngmd:

Oh and by the way I have a friend in Pharm with me and she called Kingwood LAST WEEK and they told her two weeks from then...like someone else noted it is two weeks everytime we call never seems to change.
