Lone Star Spring 2011

Okay, for all of us that did not get into the Lone Star Fall 2010 program and are trying again for the Spring...here we go again.

I'm retaking AP2 this summer (I have a B so now I want an A) to increase my points. After that I just don't know what else to do because I have all co-reqs completed, CPR done and Immunizations done. What are your plans to increase your chances of getting in for the Spring?

I took the pharm class online and it wasn't bad. Are you planning on apply for a spring 2011 start? Have you taken the HESI? Goodluck!

just want to make sure you know, but i think NH only has fall admission and no spring admission. i believe it is only kingwood and cyfair for spring.

oops, that's right, so i will apply to kingwood up until sept 8th then apply at nhc in january...so i am confused how can you apply 1st choice, 2nd choice it they aren't accepting apps at the same time?

Okay i am a little confused, so the application period is open right now at Lonestar Kingwood July 7th through Sept 8th, is this to begin the program this fall? Also I am goint to take RNSG Pharmacology 1301 online has anyone taken it this way...if so was it difficult and does anyone recommend a teacher.

Hi there! Yes, the application period is opened for Kingwood however, this will be for a January 2011, or Spring start.

I am currently taking Pharm online right now and it just started so unfortunately I can't really give much advise on that yet. I can tell you though, that taking it during a full semester would probably be better than a short summer semester. I am already getting pretty stressed just at the amount of work we have to take on each week for this class alone. I think a slower pace would help absorb more information. This feels a bit like a cram session.

Hi - I had a question I'm hoping you all can help with. I'm going to be taking Pharm this fall at HCC. I have A's in all pre-req's everything except a B in API. I have not taken Sociology, PE or Speech. I do have more than 32 credit semester hours though. I also got 90's in reading portion of Hesi. When I checked the scoring chart it says divide reading by 25 - is that how you could get 4 pts for that? Or do you divide reading and math?

I guess my question is: Should I complete Pharm in the fall. In the Spring take Soci 1301, Speech and Kine then apply for the Fall start date or could I try apply for a Spring start date without those outstanding courses?? I have been taking pre-req's for years now and just feel so discouraged that I am never going to get into nursing school!

I did the score chart and my total points is: 11.65

What is Cy-fair's cutoff?. :)

ok. i hate to be the bearer of bad news, but.....if you still need speech, soc and kin, you only have 24 of the 31 credits. the only hours that count towards the 31 are the pre reqs and co reqs. for nursing. you need 27 of the 31 to get 4 pts in that category. you would need to take at least one of the three hour classes(speech or soc) this fall in order to be able to apply in jan for next fall admission. is there still time to take one this summer? if so, you could still apply for spring with the full 4 pts. Sorry

Oh Ok I gotcha... Yah I see your point, I wouldn't score 4 then, only 3.

I could take one of the pre-req's like Soci and get Pharm out the way in the Fall, but that wouldn't count towards the Spring start date would it? I've missed Summer II at this point.... dang!

Hello all I have been lurking on this site for awhile. I have applied to Kingwood spring 2011 my score is 11.9132. (missed one on the HESI reading, darn HESI!!) I have taken all my courses at Montgomery so looking to meet others going to Kingwood. Good luck to everyone.
