Okay, for all of us that did not get into the Lone Star Fall 2010 program and are trying again for the Spring...here we go again.
I'm retaking AP2 this summer (I have a B so now I want an A) to increase my points. After that I just don't know what else to do because I have all co-reqs completed, CPR done and Immunizations done. What are your plans to increase your chances of getting in for the Spring?
Forgot to add: jpinkard - I am in the same Pharm class as you. I cannot believe all the issues we are having already!!! To top it all off, the instructor is out of the country for a few weeks! I am pretty frustrated to say the least.
OMG!!! Ya I was pretty hacked when I discovered all the issues (calendar, syllabus, access to quizzes, due dates, teacher being pretty much unavailable, etc.) To top it all off, we don't really have "days" to waste as it is a very fast course. 14 chapters for one week!??! eeeh. This is precisely why I will NOT be working during NURSING school!
Kyla- I wouldn't get too worked up about the exam, you will do just fine, it was easy (IMO) than the study guide. Just make sure you read the passage good and really understand it before trying to read the questions. When are you going to take it?
I am sorry to hear you guys are having problems in your pharm class. Mine went well, I am so glad it's all finished!
I know this is random but it bugs me that it says we're only taking like 6 or so credit hours a semester in nursing school but the work is so intense!! I hate not having "full time" status but having to commit so much time to school...probably just my own little pet peeve!
And also check out Bridgeland...my brother lives there. They have a community area pool that is like a water park! And, they are always doing family stuff in the neighborhood...Fall Festival, Movies in the Park, sporting events, decorating contests...they love it! And, they have a great trail system for walking and biking. We take our bikes over there a lot...oh, and a disc golf course. It really is nice..:)
Oh yeah, Bridgeland is a VERY nice community. Town Lakes is still developing but it is supposed to be HUGE and have quite a few amminities.
I think it takes about a week for the HESI scores to show up on the application. That is why they have the HESI deadline before the actual nursing application deadline.
As far as when I am going to take it, I have no idea yet. I am still need to do more brushing up on my math, like all the conversions and things like that. I will probably spend this weekend studying and try to take the HESI sometime next week.
Okay i am a little confused, so the application period is open right now at Lonestar Kingwood July 7th through Sept 8th, is this to begin the program this fall? Also I am goint to take RNSG Pharmacology 1301 online has anyone taken it this way...if so was it difficult and does anyone recommend a teacher.

I'm also taking Pharm this fall, so am not sure about the difficulty. It seems like it should be fine and like any other online course. Also, the application is due Sept 8th and the program is for Spring 2011. Good luck!

Wow! There are some great scores showing up for Cy-Fair! I had better get to studying for my HESI so I can compete.
bugalove - I am so happy to hear you are thinking more about the Cy-Fair area! I live in Stone Gate and LOVE it here!!
From what I understand about the Block vs. Nonblock is that the Nonblock goes from easy (ok maybe not the best word) to more comprehensive care, while the Block Curriculum goes by types of care.
Ok, gotta sign off now and get to studying for that HESI. I am even more nervous about it now after seeing all of your scores!
