Lone Star Spring 2011

Okay, for all of us that did not get into the Lone Star Fall 2010 program and are trying again for the Spring...here we go again.

I'm retaking AP2 this summer (I have a B so now I want an A) to increase my points. After that I just don't know what else to do because I have all co-reqs completed, CPR done and Immunizations done. What are your plans to increase your chances of getting in for the Spring?

jpinkard - I am the same way and I am a little worried about it. Between working full time, my kids/husband and school it was tough actually retaining most of the information I learned in A&P. I made A's but did so much the same way you did.

I also have a question. Does anyone know what the nursing department hours are at Kingwood? I went to turn in my application today and there was no one there. I tried calling, but didn't get an answer. If anyone knows this I'd appreciate if you'd share. Thanks so much.

They said they don't work on fridays during the summer. Sorry to hear you went there to drop it off! I don't know what there hours are, but I assume at least 9-5.

Hi everyone I am hoping to apply as well I would need to get in to Cy-Fair if I can get my schedule straight. I have not taken the HESI yet. I have a question is the reading portion of the actual test similar to the study guide or is the actual test harder? Does anyone know when the hep B shots have to be completed by?

Took the HESI for UT-Houston and I'm too freaked out to re-take it for a higher score so looks like I'm at a 11.5884.

I'm applying to both Cy-Fair and Kingwood but Cy-Fair would be my first choice since it's a lot closer to me. Has anyone spoken to anyone from the Cy-Fair nursing department for what the cut-off score has been the past couple of semesters?

I personally know someone who got in cyfair last app period w/ an 11.48.....you should be fine from what I've read and heard. I believe their cutoff is usually 11.4something.

Just took my HESI yesterday - only missed 1 on the Reading Comp part! (Sigh of relief) So, I know I can get into CyFair. But, am also applying at a couple of other accelerated programs since I already have a BS degree. We'll see what happens. But, excited that I have a home for Spring 2011 finally!
