Lone Star Spring 2011

Published

Okay, for all of us that did not get into the Lone Star Fall 2010 program and are trying again for the Spring...here we go again.

I'm retaking AP2 this summer (I have a B so now I want an A) to increase my points. After that I just don't know what else to do because I have all co-reqs completed, CPR done and Immunizations done. What are your plans to increase your chances of getting in for the Spring?

Kyla - you are right...see, my Aggieness always gets in the way!

Don't you have to pay Evolve to send the results? I barely listened to that last night because someone else asked that same question.

reeshul - I would call up to kingwood or cyfair and double check the requirement for the test.

bugalove - thanks for the wish of luck on the HESI test. I will need it since it's been a long time since I did any of this kind of math.

I think you have to have the school send over your scores to Lonestar. And when you apply, the screen allows you to choose a 1st choice campus and 2nd choice, so you don't have to fill out 2 separate applications.

I want to know everyone's scores!!! Don't be shy

Ok here's what we can do (if you want to of course)...we can post our scores with our name and school we are applying to and then the next person who wants to just copy and paste the list with the other peoples scores, and we can keep a running list of everyone who wants to share!

I'll start.

Jpinkard--I like your idea! I will post mine as soon as I take it next week! (And I am MEEGGGGGA jealous of your score, BTW!).

LilGTO-- I wouldn't stress too much about the math. Study and do good, of course, but that score is only used if there's a tie so try and not fret over it!

jpchouston - we all feel your pain! However, the NH campus is starting a "One day a week program"

I posted the link a page back, but go to the NHwebsite and look in the nursing section. It answers a lot of questions.

A lot of us would love to take the avenue of no classroom lecture and mainly focus on clinical skills and testing. This is NH maiden voyage into the online program for RNs. Maybe they will let more in once the program is up and running.

great score jpinkard!

Lol. Thank you! :) It was truly the HESI that saved me. I made A's in all my pre-reqs, but in all honesty...I don't feel like I got that "foundation" that Ms. Spivey was talking about...the semesters were fast paced and between working/my son/school...I think I "memorized" and crammed most of that info! EEH! I better start brushing up NOW! From what I hear, they expect you to be on top of the A&P I/II material from the very beginning of the program.

I can't wait to find out who all will be taking this journey together!

I watched Dr. Goodman's lectures on youtube for good basic A&P.
