  1. Oh Ok I gotcha... Yah I see your point, I wouldn't score 4 then, only 3. I could take one of the pre-req's like Soci and get Pharm out the way in the Fall, but that wouldn't count towards the Spring start date would it? I've missed Summer II at this point.... dang! Thanks ;0)
  2. I did the score chart and my total points is: 11.65 What is Cy-fair's cutoff?. :)
  3. Hi - I had a question I'm hoping you all can help with. I'm going to be taking Pharm this fall at HCC. I have A's in all pre-req's everything except a B in API. I have not taken Sociology, PE or Speech. I do have more than 32 credit semester hours though. I also got 90's in reading portion of Hesi. When I checked the scoring chart it says divide reading by 25 - is that how you could get 4 pts for that? Or do you divide reading and math? I guess my question is: Should I complete Pharm in the fall. In the Spring take Soci 1301, Speech and Kine then apply for the Fall start date or could I try apply for a Spring start date without those outstanding courses?? I have been taking pre-req's for years now and just feel so discouraged that I am never going to get into nursing school! Thanks so much!!! Angie
  4. Hi All; I'm going to be applying for the Fall start and am currently out of district - zoned for HCC. I really want to attend Lone Star though and am willing to move to area for the class duration. I checked the website but couldnt find the cost of the nursing program. Can anyone guide me to the info online or give me the in district and out of district rates? Much appreciated!! Angie
  5. Hi :) Can anyone tell me how Lonestar Cy-Fair gives their points to determine who gets in the program? From threads I have read I know the cut-off is around 11point something, but how do they get that number. For example if I have taken all pre-req's except speech and that one PE class. I got B's on Math and one B on A&P1. Everything else was A's. I am planning on taking the HESI after Xmas break. If I take the HESI and do well on it, will that get me up to this magic number? If anyone has any insight or info it would be much appreciated. Also does anyone know if the HESI will be offered before the Jan 20th application period starts? I am trying to apply for the Aug '10 start date. Thanks so much and have a blessed day! Angela

  7. Hi all, Thanks for all the info on Lonestar :) I did all my pre-req's with HCC but am starting to get the feeling HCC disorganized and am still waiting for them to offer HESI in the summer in order to take Pharm! So I will be out of district for cy-fair, does that count against you when you apply for the program? I know alvin cc puts in district students ahead of out of district for the nursing program. Also - I know we have to take the HESI test, but do we also have to take the Nurse Entrance test?? I read somewhere on the website that it is a requirement, PLEASE correct me if I'm wrong as I really don't want to have to take the NET as well! Is Pharm a pre-req?? Say for example I took Pharm at Cy-fair in the fall, could I still put in an application for the Spring start date?? Thanks :) Angela
  8. Thanks :wink2: I'm referring to Houston Community College...
  9. I missed getting into the HESI entrance test during the spring as all slots were full. They told me to call back mid May as the test would be offered in the summer. Called back mid May was told nothing yet, call back end of May. Called end of May was told to call back mid June as nothing yet. I called this week and was again told nothing yet maybe in July, but they arent sure if there will be any HESI tests offered in the summer! UGH, I really need to take this HESI test to get into Pharm in the Fall!! I wanted to get into Pharm during the summer, but missed the HESI in the spring. This just feels like I'm blowing a year and was really shooting for the Spring start. I have taken all my other pre-req's just missing this hesi/pharm... I read recently that now the new thing at HCC is if you take pharm you have to wait a semester before applying for the program! Does anyone have any advice, info on what the heck is going on down there, why are there no HESI tests being offered in the summer??!! Can ya tell I'm just a tad frustrated!! Thanks :) Angela
  10. Ugh! This news doesnt sound good. I am supposed to take the HESI there soon. I emailed nursing program last week about the next dates and she indicated only in July again! And they dont know what the dates will be either. She suggested calling back in June... So the saga continues
  11. :yeah: Funny :)
  12. Congrats!! Good luck in nursing school!! :)
  13. Hope all of you who applied get in! Good Luck!!! Keep us posted :)
  14. Congrats and all the best in nursing school :)
  15. When I took A&PI, I took it based on recommendations on rateyourprofessor. All the feedback was positive, easy A, etc etc. Well come to find out the A was easy because she was never there, all the tests were given before hand and all we had to do was find the answer and then have the test the following week. I learn't absolutely NOTHING in A&PI and in the first few weeks "actual" students were dropping because they figured this teacher wasn't any good. Unfortunately when I wanted to drop all the other classes for my time slot were full. I had to go back and reteach myself in A&PI and had some make-up to do when I took A&PII - with a different teacher! Her class sucked and we all made A's!! Yayaa (**insert sarcasm here**) Maybe not knowing isn't such a bad thing.....just a thought. Good luck!
