I interviewed for the surgical unit. What unit did you interview with?

I interviewed for the Operating Room for the Adult RN Residency program, but I guess they combined it with the Children's Hospital as well. There were 8 interviewers via Zoom through mine. I got an offer today, but like everyone said, I am unsure if the pay is worth it for a 3-year commitment (1 year residency and 2 years full-time employee). How is everyone else feeling?

Yes, same here ! I’ve heard so many good things from previous professors but yeah it didn’t feel like the right fit. But good luck to you in your nursing journey, hope you find the right fit that best works for you !!

Congratulations! I didn’t hear back. I probably didn’t get the job. I had the same experience as you. Felt a bit overwhelming and confusing actually with all of the different options regarding the specialities/location.

I'm sure you will hear back. Each OR location has their timeline of when they choose their candidates. Apparently, there will be 9-10 residents for the OR cohort for August 2022. And from the looks of the sign-up genius that was sent to us...there were 12 that signed up to interview. OR has always been my passion, but the pay is really turning me off.

Hello, I was wondering about the pay rate. If you are working the night shift will you get paid for the $37.50 and $4.00 which makes it $40 and is it 40 hours per week?

It depends. For residency, I know we will be doing 8 hours/5 days (40hrs/wk) for some time. Then, eventually most residents will do 12 hour/3 days (36hrs/wk).

I agree with you regarding the pay. Plus the on-call hours varies depending on the location. It was all a bit confusing and a lot of information.

Yes, the differential gets tacked on to the base pay.

Ej,
do you know if there is on-call pay?
