Hey! I applied to all units. Their website says we will hear in 4-6 weeks from the application close date which puts us at the 19th. So I think at earliest it would be Monday the 22nd that we hear from them!

Has anyone heard from St. Joseph in Mission Viejo / Laguna ?

Yes! I applied to med/surg and eating disorder at mission hospital... when did you get the interview email? Also was yours for the mission campus or main campus?

For those who got interviews/offers, did you have previous hospital experience outside of school clinicals? I saw in an article from CHOC they look for experience in nursing support jobs.

Yes! Definitely felt the same, it was a strange and somewhat awkward interview! I've heard great things about their workplace environment and culture for new grads, but something felt off. It's best to go with your gut sometimes I guess

I've heard a lot of hospitals in SoCal don't pay super well, especially compared to NorCal nurses ?

Thank you! I ended up declining the position for a couple reasons. Pay wasn't too big of a deal since I'm really just wanting experience (but it would be nice to get decent pay LOL). I applied for ER and they seemed to have messed up the process because I was asked to interview/got an offer for their surgical unit. They also seemed a little disorganized, and they even gave me incorrect contact info so... IDK some red flags here and there on top of a possible 3 year contract wasn't the best.

They offered me starting at $37.50 with a $4 differential for night shift and a $4 differential for weekends. They explained it would go up to $41 at 6 months and then $45 at the year mark. I wasn't informed of the 3 year commitment at all, only through searching online. When they offered the job it was hinted at as a one-year commitment...

Is it the surgical only or med/surg & eating disorder unit??

Did your status on the portal change? I applied to med/surg and from what I can see on here only PICU and NICU have heard back
