Loma Linda new grad RN Summer 2020

Nurses Job Hunt

Published

Anyone apply to the RN new grad program at Loma Linda University medical center for this Summer?

I haven't seen any posts on here about it so was wondering if anyone has any information on if anything will be delayed due to the pandemic, or if anyone has heard anything back from them about their application.

Also what units did you guys apply to!?

Just called HR, used the number from the residency page. I asked what is the status regarding offers for the new grad program and he had told me to check my jobpage on the site for an update if we were selected or not! He said that it would be updated in a few days sometime this week. Hope this helps! I feel like we’re all hearing different things.

Has anyone has their submission status change? Mine still says Application Sent to Hiring Manager from March 15th.

Mine also says sent to hiring manager from March 17th. I spoke to Jesus in HR- not sure who is the point person for the residency program?

my status also remained the same.

So I called yesterday as well. I spoke to a female recruiter, I didn't get her name. She said to refer back to the website on any information. She also said they (recruiters) are not updated regarding offers and that's between the hiring manager and applicant.

This is my first time applying, so I have a few questions. (Not sure if anyone can answer this, but it's worth a shot)

Do people normally get a verbal offer first? Or can you still get the position without a verbal offer? Since today marks two weeks for some interviews, is it safe to say that they chose someone already?

Hello everyone, I just got off the phone with HR and wanted to share some information. It looks like official offers will be sent the week of May 18th. The way he made it sound was that you don't necessarily need to get a verbal offer. He also mentioned that even if you get a verbal offer, it doesn't mean that you 100% get the job. The verbal offer can still get withdrawn if units can't accept as many new grads as they anticipated. They are currently looking at funding limitations caused by COVID and might decrease the number of new grads admitted to the cohort this cycle.

I received a similar message. The unit I interviewed for (CPCU 7300) just emailed me to update the status of my interview. She said that they are still interviewing (cardiac units) and will let me know the results of their decisions by May 18th.

Got the same message from CTICU.

Thanks for sharing the info! I have not gotten any news from MICU. Has anyone heard from them?

Did anyone else interview with more than one unit?

@Intensive Care Murse I had an interview offer with CPCU 7300 last Friday after I interviewed for the BMC a week prior. I declined the offer because I accepted a verbal offer from BMC. After talking with HR, I regret doing that because I was informed that verbal offers are not a guarantee. HR told me that it's best to interview for both your first and second choice if you get the opportunity to increase your chances.

@Melphor Thanks for the reply, that's reassuring. I did not receive a verbal offer from either interview, but was concerned that the reason I got the second interview was because I was not chosen after interviewing with my first choice.

Wishful thinking. Maybe they interviewed you for both, because both units liked you. Things are not finalized till May 18th per HR. Best of luck!
