I take my teas on Friday and I am super nervous!! Did you use the ATI book to study? Is there anything in the science or math that wasn't covered in the book? Any tips on what to focus on??

Also, was it the paper/pencil version or on the computers? Do you only get one attempt to pass?

Any info would be great!! thanks!

yea, I used the Teas V book to study, but the book only cover the surface of certain subjects. I don't remember which one you should focus on sorry, but be prepare. The test is online, but you can use pencil and paper as scratch paper.

i got my letter over the weekend with the green slip also. i went to gwc site and here is the current update:

"if you are planning to take the teas with gwc school of nursing, please make sure that you visit this website: [color=#336666]www.goldenwestcollege.edu/nursing/testing on june 3, 2011. there will be specific instructions on what you have to do in order to take the teas."

i spoke with the nursing lady if it's okay to take the teas at other locations earlier rather than the july dates at gwc. she said it was okay and that gwc does not want the teas score sent to them unless they selected you into the program. however, if you take the teas at gwc on those dates in july, gwc will have your score in their system. i'm not sure if taking the teas at other sites have any affect on you getting selected since they don't know if you pass the teas or not?

i called and asked about this when i got my letter, and the woman i spoke to said something different. she did not say they don't want the results sent to them unless they select you into the program. in fact, she advised that there is a fee to have the score sent to the school and that having the score on file did not guarantee you would be selected for admission any more than taking it there during the july dates, but they would at least have the score on file already in the event you are selected. i planned on having it sent there around june 3rd since that is when folks will start registering to take the teas there anyway. i figure correspondence with ati will be the norm around that time so receiving the scores won't be too out of place.

I'm not sure, but she did say that if you fail, you have one year to retake it and they will guarantee your spot...I'm not sure though, you might want to confirm with her. Good luck on Friday and be prepare, It's hard not to pass, but i felt like i was caught off guard because i went in there thinking it was easier than i originally thought :D

Hellllloooooooo!

Any alternates schedule or plan to schedule to take the TEAS at Golden West in July? Just curious and restless right before the upcoming Spring application season :D

Has anyone here taken pharmacology at GWC?

Yes, ------ is awesome.

Specializes in Emergency Department.
Has anyone here taken pharmacology at GWC?

Yes and it was useless. Nice teacher, but the info was hardly provided in a way that could be applied to nursing. Take it at Cerritos College with -------- if you want it to be meaningful to your practice.

I'm scheduled to take TEAS 5 on Jun 30th at a different site. I'm a little nervous b/c I only studied the McGraw Hill Manual. I read some other threads which recommend the ATI manual since its format resembled the actual exam. I thinking of getting the ATI just for the reading comprehension. Is the reading comprehension passage short just like the McGraw Hill? Any suggesting to study for reading and english?

@gideonbeth and apgar10- Can you guys tell me how this online-hybrid class works? Do you guys have any tips/suggestions? I'm fairly nervous about taking it this summer considering I haven't taken micro yet. Also apgar10, what do you mean by "useless"? What is wrong with the teacher?
