hi everyone! i'm holli. i took boards on june 13th and passed with 75 questions. i am starting work on july 18th at the only hospital i ever wanted to work for. it is a great pediatric facility! i will be on the (post-op) surgical floor, and we also have all of the endocrine kids. also, they just added an epilepsy monitoring unit, for overnight monitoring and for the brain mapping they are doing. i expressed an interest in that, so they will cross-train me in that unit as well. i can't wait to get started!
so, tell me about you...
holli, rn
Hello Everyone!
I just graduated this past Ausgust on the 2nd from an Accelerated BSN program in Orlando. I took my boards on the 9th of October and passed with 90 questions. I also got two offers to work, one was on OB High Risk and the other at a closer hospital for a little bit more money on Mother-Baby which is my first passion. So I took the better offer and I start on the 27th of this month. I am so excited and nervous because I am going to be at a new hospital with new staff, but I will be at the bottom of the totem pole. Best wishes to all the new grads out there and starting their new role as registered nurses.

Hi All-
I haven't read all the posts---old eyes---but I think I may be the senior person on this particular post. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. I graduated in 1975. 3 kids, 3 grandkids (one in utero, due in Jan). 2 kids in Texas, one in Spain, husband in heaven & I'm on the other side of the world, trying to help bring some aspects of medical care up to a higher standard, one jot and tittle at a time. You all are a great source of encouragement to me & I wish you all the best in this most interesting, troublesome, enriching, fill in the blank profession of all professions.
HI, I am new to the site and new to nursing. I graduated in May. I started working in June on a med/surg unit in a small hospital. I really like it so far. I just got off orientation a few days ago. I am learning to balance family and working. I have 3 kids that are active in things and a husband that I never see anymore! Glad to be here. :heartbeat

Take it from me, you won't see them for long. I missed all of my kids teenage years, but their dad was home with them so I didn't feel so badly about not being there, my daughter did though. she remembers all of those days and nights mom was not home. But that is nursing.
hi my name is natasha. i have been browsing around awhile and decided it was time to say hello to everyone. i just graudated in august, passed nclex in september. i have been working on the hematology/oncology floor on night shift....that takes some getting used to all in itself, but i really like it. look foward to chatting with all of you.
have a wonderful day!!
Hey all! I am Jennifer and I have kinda looked around on this site. I graduated in May and passed my NCLEX in July. From March until now life has been a whirlwind. Sent husband off on the long deployment journey in March, had baby in March, finished school in May, moved to Ohio at the end of June, and took my boards and started working in july (small pat on my back). I have been off of orientation for a month now and work at a regional hospital that is part of a very major hospital system (hint- I am in Cleveland). I love my job, love the place that I work, and can't wait to be done with my first year of nursing!
hi,
i'm a new grad in the nicu. graduated with bsn in june, passed boards on the second try with 265. reconsidering bedside nursing and thinking about a clinic setting. feeling overwhelmed and extremely anxious every time i think about going into work. i have another degree in healthcare administration and thinking about how i can use it since i don't have any experience. have always wanted to become a nurse but now i feel like the possibility of losing my license in a high risk nicu is far to great and not at all worth it. i worked to hard and tooooo many student loans to allow that to happen. ok....enough venting. nice to meet you all!
