hi everyone! i'm holli. i took boards on june 13th and passed with 75 questions. i am starting work on july 18th at the only hospital i ever wanted to work for. it is a great pediatric facility! i will be on the (post-op) surgical floor, and we also have all of the endocrine kids. also, they just added an epilepsy monitoring unit, for overnight monitoring and for the brain mapping they are doing. i expressed an interest in that, so they will cross-train me in that unit as well. i can't wait to get started!
so, tell me about you...

Hi everyone! I am new to this site and a new graduate from Ontario with a BScN. I currently work in rural Alberta on an Acute Care Unit (in otherwords....if your'e admitted you will be sent up to me!)
So far I have been working for 11months and love nursing...you never know what your shift will bring! Of course there are the parts that make you wonder why we aren't paid more.....but enough of that, see ya all around!!! I love this site!

Hi everyone
I wish I had found this board during school. However, it is apparently never too late to join. I am going to be starting my nursing career on July 10th - graduated with a BSN on May 20th and passed the boards, last Monday, June 19th. I am so excited to be finished with school - I can't beleive it is actually over. I am also so excited to be starting my job as a floor nurse with long term acute care multi system failure pts. There will be a huge number of pts on vents, monitors; the facility has offered ACLS training - I am so excited to be starting this, but I know there will be alot to learn and it will be great to be able to share my stories and hear the stories of all of you in the same or similar positions. Look forward to "chatting" with you all.

hello everyone!!!
i am so excited that i found this site. i am a new graduate nurse in the waiting period for obtaining nj licensure. i passed the nclex and received licensure in nc, but change of plans has brought me back up to the north. waiting for a license to practice here is killing me.
life is just so dull without nursing!
i want to learn what is not in the textbooks. i want to learn real nursing. these forums seem to be a good use of time while i am stagnant. the tips i found on pages and pages of posts are wonderful! this is truly exciting. you will be hearing from me, and i will be listening to you!
thanks.
Hello everyone!
My name is Sarah. I am a wife and a mother of 3 beautiful kids, I graduated in May, passed my NCLEX last week, and am working on a Womens and Childrens floor and loving it. Good luck to all of you still waiting to take the NCLEX, and congratulations to those of you who've passed!
Hi I'm Sue. Just graduated a 3-yr diploma program in May and presently working as a grad nurse on a step-down telemetry unit. Just completed 6 weeks of hospital orientation and now am orienting on my floor. After orientation, I will be part/time (24 hrs/wk). Right now I'm working M-F 7a-3p and it's exhausting! Scheduled to take the NCLEX next week.
Hello to Everyone,
I am so excited I found this site. I am a mom of 2 and waited until they were both in school to pursue my dream. It was a lot of hard work (I know you know what I am talking about), but I graduated with my BSN on May 21st, took the NCLEX this week and PASSED!! I am thrilled to be able to officially put the R.N. behind my name! What an awesome feeling! I am working on a Pediatric Hem/Onc unit; entering week 4 of orientation and so far I love it. I wish everyone of you the best of luck and look forward to hearing and learning from each and everyone of you out there!!

Hi my name is Jay. Nice to meet you all ! I graduated from a nursing school in March 2006 and I just finished 9 weeks of orientation and on my own for two days. I have to tell you that being a med/surg nurse is not what I imagined esp. working at night, but I have no choice as I got stuck here at least for a year.. I hope I make it through...

Hi all,
I moved across the country, passed boards & started in the Burn ICU. It's been a journey for sure. In the Fall I'm starting a dual degree FNP, MPH program. My true love is public health & primary care, believe it or not!!! Though I am so greatful to be getting this critical care experience ~ wow! I work at a large inner city trauma hospital with very diverse patients & nurses. Things can get crazy very quickly... a lot of "in the fire" experience (no pun intended...
). I'm hangin' in there!
