Let's give nurses a break: How do the rest of the staff dress?

I've seen about a million (:D) threads about unprofessionally dressed nurses with cartoony, low riding, see through, pajama like, tight, ill fitting etc. etc. scrubs. I think we all know of someone who fits in that category.

How about the other health staff? What has made you go:

I know a surgeon that likes to make his rounds wearing the tighest workout gear you can imagine - how can I tastefully say this - I wouldn't have to ask him to take his clothes off if I wanted to do a thorough head to toe assessment!

I don't know how he gets away with it - I wouldn't let me cut my toenail wearing that outfit nevermind my body!

I seen a female doctor wear a shirt that exposed her belly.

I seen dietary aides where white scrub pants with colored underwear underneath, can see everything.

gross.

Not exactly what you're looking for, but one of our surgeons wears his scrub pants a bit loose. One day in surgery they fell to the floor. They stayed in a puddle around his ankles until he finished surgery.

Was he wearing boxers with yellow duckies print?

A private duty patient right after the visit from office staff, "I know she won't be doing much work in those heels" My (admittedly) inappropriate response, "it's ok, ortho needs more patients".

Some people are oblivious to what the rest of us see... that is crazy to me.

there was the secretary who came to work in the gay pride t shirt. management sent her home to change, and she came back wearing a t-shirt with what looked at first glance like a lovely pink flower on the front . . . .

there was the physician who came to do rounds in jogging shorts so short that certain portions of his anatomy peeked out of the legs . . . ok, that only happened once. the rest of the time, he wore dirty, torn up sweat pants.

there was the physician who wore a little white sundress for rounds with daffodil yellow flip flops that had actual daffodils on them, with her white lab coat over the dress. then she took her lab coat off and her lovely yellow thong was perfectly visible through the sheer white sundress.

there was the physician who was very proud of biking to work -- in his bicycle shorts, red jersey and red bike shoes. in fact, he was so proud of it, he never changed his clothes. once he showed up on the unit wearing his helmet, too.

my personal fave is the manager who supported her staff during nurse's week by showing up in whites. very old, somewhat grey and very threadbare whites. very tight whites. someone must've mentioned to her the very first time she wore them that her underwear showed through. she solved that problem by not wearing any panties the next day. that was very visible as well!

dr. jeff showed up wearing devil horns and a red tie with pitchforks on it -- both of which lit up via a battery pack. he walked into a patient's room in the dark, hit the little button to light them up -- and then had to take the patient to the cath lab for chest pain.

Makes me wanna wear a shirt that says, " I passed anatomy, I don't need your help."

Dr. Jeff needs to pick his patients right :L

I have seen a surgeon who wore the tightest scrubs I ever saw in my life, he pushed back on a chair so it was on two legs. He placed his hands behind his head and thrust the bottom half of his body in the air whilst he was talking to me! I honest thought I was going to die of embarrassment or laughter I couldn't make up my mind which was more appropriate

What gets me are the folks who wear scrubs too tight and excess adipose seeks to escape with every step and position change. If you have a blubbery belly and butt....... don't wear middy-tops and low-rise pants. Sometimes being "fashionable" doesn't suit your body-type, and I don't understand how someone looking in the mirror (if they do) can't see that!

Nipple rings combined with a too-tight shirt. I won't say who but it wasn't a nurse.

during my tour of nursing home hell, an md showed up one saturday afternoon in bike shorts, a jersey, and a helmet. it's a very bike-friendly town, and the facility was near the bike path, but the md could have at least changed into long pants.

Everyone is pretty professional where I work. Most people wear scrubs. administration, and some doctors who don't wear scrubs wear nice professional clothing. Haven't seen anything that would make me gasp. Isn't there some reality tv show with a plastic surgeon who wears tight cut off scrub tops? lol
