Hello, everyone applying to Lehman's BSN/ABSN programs for Fall 2018!

I am currently working on my application and will very soon take HESI. I know application period does not start until January 1, but I thought I would create a thread so we could get in touch and support each other on the way to (keeping fingers crossed!) being accepted!

Do we purchase the liability insurance?

Nope.

In the student handbook it states: "CUNY provides liability coverage for all generic undergraduate nursing students enrolled in a clinical nursing course." (36). We are covered. The orientation packet says so as well.

so for those starting to get some of that checklist done. I did my background check and drug testing through that website suggested in the orientation packet. I submitted my order for the background check on Tuesday of this week and got my results yesterday. I'd say that's pretty quick. I printed the registration form for the drug-test and took it to my nearest labcorp site today and just had a urine test done. I was given a reciept and the person there told me they send the results to Lehman. I'll let you all know if I recieve anything that I can print as proof of results for the department.

For anyone looking for scrub pants, Fordham Uniforms on Fordham Road has a couple. I also saw that Walmart carries some.

Yes, you can pick up the loan application at the financial aid office. However, on the form it says that you cannot submit the form until you register for at least 6 credits.

After filling out the FAFSA, you have to go to the financial aid office to fill out the loan application. However, since we are no registered yet, we can't fill out the application.

I am not eligibile for any federal loans but I am fortunate to have a scholasrhip that covers 5 years at Lehman College.

UPDATE: I got the drug test done yesterday and I recieved my results today. They provide a document you can print for the nursing department. :)

Hey guys, has anyone figured what cpr training we are supposed to choose? I believe it's is BLS but I'm not sure and I don't want to pay for the wrong thing.

Yes, BLS. I think in the packet it stated that they want us to go through American Heart Association. I took mine this morning. It was quick and only cost me $70 with a discount.
