Hey all!!! Has anyone else been contacted for a pre-screening interview for the Summer 2014 Versant program at Legacy? I don't like in Portland, but I just received the phone call to schedule mine and I was wondering how others were preparing and how the process was going for other people. Thanks! And good luck to you all!!!
I also have a BSN. But I had not taken my boards yet when I did my phone interview. Not sure if that makes a difference or not. I've been an LPN for 3 years, worked in the ICU at my local hospital for the past year and a half. I'm moving out to Portland in August either way and thought a residency would be a great way to kick off being an RN.
I know for sure that of I do not get the residency this time that I will definitely be applying again in October. The program sounds to amazing not to try again.
I did not get to continue on.
I have a BSN and passed my nclex in 76 questions. The gentleman who interviewed me informed me that my first interview was the best of the day and that I shouldn't be worried because he was very impressed.
However, the first interview and any other achievements don't matter until you get moved by the selection committe to the next round.
I I have a 3.4 gpa so I believe that hindered me from being in the top 50%.
I wont be applying again because I have a feeling the same thing might happen. I have a strong faith in God and believe that this means I wasn't meant to have this job. I trust that amazing nurses will get selected and serve legacy patients well.
I hope you all do well in the next interview!!!
MVARJU- Sorry to hear that. I dont think GPA had as much push as maybe thought. I am just above the cut-off when applied, 3.26. I have not passed my boards either, I take them on July 8th.
What was everyone else's first choice and who did you interview with? Maybe not the name, but which department are you hoping to get into?
Being that I am in Washington and would not have my Oregon license by endorsement in time, I interviewed with the manager of the Women's and Children department at Salmon Creek, with a first preference in a NICU spot. I was asked about interest in an ER spot though and I stated I would be interested as well.
