Least favorite pre-req: Political Science

Published

I'm down to my last pre-reqs...met with a counselor, she said my grades are great and i should get in, but I'm worried about Pol Sci. I need an A and it is so not my thing. I'd hate to have my dreams crushed for politics, ugh. Just had my first test, i chose essay format. I think i did OK, but waiting for my results is going to ruin my weekend. I miss science:crying2:. One thing I have learned so far by choosing nursing is how much I LOVE science classes no matter how frustrating the amount of work may be.

What was your least favorite pre-req?

Oral Communication!!! Uggghhhh. I get SO nervous when I have to make a speech to a large group of people - especially people I don't know. I always had a knot in my stomach on the day I had to go to that class.

I love the nursing pre-req science classes as well. And I remember taking a poli-sci class when I was an undergrad (not for nursing) and absolutely hating it. I found it really boring. :uhoh3: But it's just another one of those things you have to get through - another hoop to jump through! Good luck :)

Chemistry. I had a horrendous lab teacher. He enjoyed turning that class into his own political debate class!!

Mine was a political science class also, Political Theory. It's been 4 years, and I still get bored thinking about it! :lol2:

I have never seen political science as a prerequisite for nursing school, however, I have seen it as a choice for one of the general education requirements. Quite frankly, I found the Poli Sci course I took in place of another history course to be quite easy and enjoyable.

I used to think Algebra was my least favorite until I took Logic. I absolutely hated that class, what a miserable semester. Ugh.

I had poli-sci back when I was in school for mechanical engineering--hated it then, and I hate it now.

I would say, for my nursing pre-reqs, it's oral communications, hands down. It was torture.

Hmm, I didn't dislike technical writing, research writing and critical thinking (more writing) but did not like taking 3 writing classes at the same time. Went through a lot of printer ink getting all my research docs. I realized how much I liked and missed my sciences classes.
