Doesn't it just drive you insane when someone tells you that Mr. Smith's O2 STAT is 96%?
It's O2 SAT people! Sat, short for saturation. I even hear respiratory therapists saying this. I am sooooo tempted to say something next time, but I know it's just petty, so I needed to vent here. Thank you.
i am not seeing the issue????
Many posters will forget the "e" on the end of "breath" so when they mean breathe, they're actually saying breath.
They'll write, "I told the patient to breath deeply," when they really mean "I told the patient to breathe deeply."
It's more annoying to read in the chart than it is here, but I see it a lot and IMO, looks very unprofessional, especially when written in the chart.

i haven't read this thread, and if the following has been stated, my apologies.
i need to loose some weight.
lose lips sink ships.
and then, some posters become a bit defiant, claiming they don't even want to be corrected.:chuckle
what can you do? (shrugs shoulders)

Probably because the other posts on praying for your patients and such were way, way :offtopic:Original post was about misspellings, mispronunciations, etc., not religion!
Speaking of such. It annoys me too no end when people confuse religion and spirituality. Bah. Religion is a man made concept. Islam, Christianity, Buddhism are all religions. They are all created by man. Spirituality is the actual beliefs you carry and any 'relationships' you may have with a god.
Just because someone is religious doesn't mean they are spiritual and vice versa.

It's actually the other way around, or was that what you meant? Loose like a moose freed from a noose.
I remember how long it took for me to remember that it wasn't meese for the plural. Why is 5 moose correct but 5 geese is correct? How nonsensical.
Another is fish.
Within a species the plural is fish. 1 trout = a fish 2 trouts = 2 fish.
Outside of a species it is fishes. 1 trout and 1 bass are 2 fishes.
The next person that gives me the 'Are you stupid' look when I say fishes is going to get slapped with a couple of fishes!

but I hope you all get to...
oh, never mind!
wow...I had no idea that was how it was pronounced down there. I have to actually 'work' a little to get it to come out as nor-fuk rather than nor-fik if I say it out loud...can't quite do it naturally. but I'm not local to there, so I'm not sure I'm supposed to anyway. wouldn't that be like me going around saying n'awlins, when I don't have the regional dialect of those who are from there.?
the point I had originally intended to make was that it is never correct to pronounce the 'l', like you would if you were talking about 'folk' music, like your cheer makes clear.
