Doesn't it just drive you insane when someone tells you that Mr. Smith's O2 STAT is 96%?

It's O2 SAT people! Sat, short for saturation. I even hear respiratory therapists saying this. I am sooooo tempted to say something next time, but I know it's just petty, so I needed to vent here. Thank you.

That reminds me of a story one of the cardiologists here told me. He said when he was working in a large teaching hospital, he got a call from the hospital pharmacy. Apparently, someone had tried to forge a prescription under him for Mofeen, 1 pound

This may (?) be my biggest non-nursing/healthcare related pet peeve....annunciating the "S" on the end of Illinois. I can't stand it. And for the record, no I never lived in IL.

All manner of misspellings, errors in grammar and enunciation, failure to use the proper punctuation, and verb tense from a healthcare professional drive me mad. We have supposedly all advanced our education. Where did I go wrong?
